Implementing the Project of the National Assembly Party Delegation (now the National Assembly Party Committee) on the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026), with the permission of the Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly , today, the National Assembly Office - the standing agency of the Organizing Committee coordinated with relevant agencies to organize the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam National Assembly Museum and announce books, publications, and issue a set of postage stamps commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam. The National Assembly Office respectfully reports on the process of establishing and building the Vietnam National Assembly Museum; and the compilation of books, publications, and issuance of a set of postage stamps commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam, specifically as follows:

On the establishment and construction of the Vietnam National Assembly Museum

Implementing the direction of the National Assembly leaders, recently, the National Assembly Office has coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to study the procedures for establishing the Vietnam National Assembly Museum. On December 26, 2023, the Ministry issued a document confirming that the History - Museum Department (established in 1999, under the Center for Information, Library and Scientific Research) is qualified to establish the Vietnam National Assembly Museum (in Document No. 5723/BVHTTDL-DSVH). This is an important basis for the National Assembly Office to establish and build the Vietnam National Assembly Museum under the current Department of Information and Library (according to Decision No. 1268/QD-VPQH dated September 25, 2025).

Through the process of deployment and implementation, the Museum has a new look with an area of ​​800m² displaying and introducing nearly 1,000 images, documents and 250 typical artifacts such as the collection of the Constitution, badges of National Assembly deputies of all terms, seals of the National Assembly Standing Committee...; the red flag with yellow star hung at the Tan Trao National Congress in 1945, the ballot box for the election of National Assembly deputies of the first term in 1946, the light sculpture art work "The Power of the People's Heart" donated by artist Bui Van Tu...

Each artifact, image, and document on display tells a story about the dedication, enthusiasm, intelligence, and responsibility of generations of National Assembly leaders and deputies, contributing to making the activities of the National Assembly increasingly innovative, effective, and efficient. The exhibition space at the Museum also has a profound educational and inspirational meaning, helping the public - especially the young generation - better understand the role of President Ho Chi Minh, who laid the foundation for the National Assembly of Vietnam; about the activities of constitution-making, legislation, supervision, and decision-making on important issues of the country; at the same time, more clearly identify the role of parliamentary diplomacy, thereby enhancing the understanding of international friends about the journey and foreign affairs achievements of the National Assembly of Vietnam, contributing to enhancing the position and image of the National Assembly in the international arena. The establishment of the Museum is an important milestone, affirming the efforts to preserve and promote the historical values ​​of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

On publishing books and publications commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly

The book “Vietnam National Assembly: 80 years of construction, innovation and development”: with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man as Head of the Steering Committee; compiled on the basis of a special ministerial-level scientific project chaired by National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh. The book has a capacity of 1,100 pages, consisting of 9 chapters, with the participation of the Ethnic Council, National Assembly Committees, the Science Council of the National Assembly Standing Committee and many prestigious scientists and experts, vividly and comprehensively reflecting the history of formation, organization and operation of the Vietnam National Assembly over the past 80 years and 15 National Assembly terms.

The book History of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Volume V (2011-2025) : compiled directly by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, has a capacity of 800 pages, consisting of 3 chapters; in which, it focuses on systematically introducing the development process, outstanding achievements and great contributions of the National Assembly of the 13th, 14th and 15th terms to the cause of national construction and development. This is an important document, summarizing profound practices, drawing valuable lessons on organizational innovation and methods of operation to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Assembly's operations in our country's political system.

Book "50 years of relations between the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the National Assembly of the Lao PDR - Cooperation and Development": On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Laos, for the first time, the National Assemblies of the two countries have coordinated to research and compile the book "50 years of relations between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Laos - Comprehensive cooperation and development (1975-2025)" under the direct direction of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Assembly, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Vu Hai Ha. With a capacity of 300 pages, including 3 chapters, the book summarizes the practical development process of relations between the National Assembly of the two countries and the contributions to the Vietnam-Laos relationship; on that basis, draws lessons to improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Laos in the new period. This is not only a vivid demonstration of the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos “higher than mountains, longer than rivers”, but also a valuable source of inspiration and responsibility for present and future generations in continuing, preserving and promoting the faithful and steadfast relationship between the two peoples.

Bilingual photo book "80 years of the Vietnamese National Assembly (1946-2026)" : chaired by the National Assembly Office, in coordination with the Vietnam News Agency, includes 900 images and documents, divided into 4 parts, carefully assessed, compared and verified by the Advisory Council and experts, ensuring authenticity, political and historical value; thereby, vividly reflecting the formation and development process of 15 National Assembly terms, associated with important milestones of the country.

About the postage stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly

This is the first time that the Office of the National Assembly has coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology to issue a special postage stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026). With a proactive spirit, high responsibility and pride in the 80-year journey of the National Assembly of Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology has closely directed relevant units to deploy the issuance of the stamp set to ensure progress and quality. The stamps have a tight layout, meticulous design, graphic style, strong, cheerful colors, and high expressiveness to deeply demonstrate the position and role of the National Assembly and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; at the same time, depict the joy of the people participating in the election, demonstrating the rights and responsibilities of voters towards the cause of building, developing and innovating the country.

The results of the 6 tasks mentioned above have significantly contributed to the basic completion of the tasks assigned in the Project to Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam. The opening of the Vietnam National Assembly Museum and the announcement of books, publications, and the issuance of a special postage stamp set today affirm the efforts and high responsibility of the National Assembly agencies, including the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense and Security, and the National Assembly Office. In particular, there was the participation of the Lao National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee; the accompaniment of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Political Publishing House Truth, the News Agency Publishing House, etc.
