Can Tho City and An Giang Province are ready with fireworks displays to welcome the Year of the Horse 2026.

On the afternoon of February 16th (29th day of the Lunar New Year), all preparations for receiving and transporting fireworks and fireworks launching equipment, and installing fireworks displays at various locations in An Giang province and Can Tho city were completed, ready for the fireworks display to welcome the Year of the Horse 2026.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, along with leaders of the Can Tho City Military Command, inspected the preparations for the fireworks display to welcome the New Year on the evening of the 29th of the lunar month.

In Can Tho City, all preparations for the New Year's Eve fireworks display – the Year of the Horse 2026 – are complete.

From early morning, 80 officers and soldiers from the Can Tho City Military Command worked diligently, overcoming the hot weather conditions, to urgently carry out tasks ranging from constructing the firing positions, transporting the fireworks onto barges and installing them on the barges; conducting technical checks; to ensuring absolute safety for the performance.

The fireworks display was set up on a barge anchored on the Hau River.

Officers and soldiers conduct a technical inspection of the fireworks display site before the firing begins.

The fireworks display, consisting of 800 fireworks, was arranged on a barge provided by Chau Thoi 620 Concrete Joint Stock Company ( Vinh Long province).

According to the Can Tho City Military Command, the units have deployed and connected the equipment in accordance with regulations and are expected to complete all technical work before 12 PM to be ready for deployment to the firing site, serving the fireworks display at the scheduled time.

All guns must be safe.

During the deployment process, the leaders of the Can Tho City Military Command instructed the units to pay special attention to security and ensure absolute safety in the fireworks display area before the order to fire is given.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Can Tho City will organize fireworks displays at 5 locations: Hau River Park – high-altitude fireworks (Cai Khe Ward) and 4 low-altitude fireworks displays in the following locations: Xa No Park (Area 2, Vi Tan Ward); 5A Urban Area (Area 27, Phu Loi Ward); Nguyen Hue Street (lakeside area, Area 6, Nga Bay Ward); and the multi-purpose gymnasium area of ​​the Culture - Sports and Broadcasting Center in Vinh Chau Ward.

All preparations for the New Year's Eve fireworks display to welcome the Year of the Horse 2026 have been basically completed.

Meanwhile, in An Giang , the Provincial Military Command reported that thanks to thorough preparation and close coordination among officers and soldiers, all preparatory work was completed quickly and safely, contributing to a vibrant and colorful New Year's Eve celebration.

Fireworks display site in An Giang - ready to ignite to welcome the New Year

To welcome the New Year, the Year of the Horse 2026, An Giang province will organize a New Year's Eve celebration and fireworks display with funding mobilized from social contributions at four locations: Rach Gia ward, Long Xuyen ward, Chau Doc ward, and Phu Quoc special economic zone.

By this time, the An Giang Provincial Military Command has completed all preparations for the fireworks display across the province. The Provincial Military Command has developed a plan and coordinated with relevant departments, agencies, and local People's Committees to organize the fireworks display according to plan and with absolute safety.

The Provincial Military Command will continue to complete 100% of the preparations, organize the Military Control force to coordinate with the Provincial and Ward Police forces to ensure the safety of the firing area. According to the plan for the 2026 New Year's Eve celebration and fireworks display in Rach Gia and Long Xuyen wards, 120 boxes of fireworks will be launched at 9:20 PM on February 16th (29th of the Lunar New Year). In Chau Doc ward and Phu Quoc special zone: it will start at 9 PM.
