Ho Chi Minh City to set off fireworks at 4 locations on New Year's Eve 2026

Ho Chi Minh City will set off fireworks at 4 locations at the moment of transition between the old year and the new year of the New Year 2026, including 3 high-altitude locations and 1 low-altitude location.

On December 8, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a plan to organize activities to welcome the new year 2026. Accordingly, the fireworks display will take place from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2026.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the three high-altitude fireworks display locations include the Saigon River tunnel area (An Khanh ward), the new city center area ( Binh Duong ward) and Tam Thang square (Vung Tau ward).

In addition, a low-altitude fireworks display will take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi Ward). All funding will be mobilized from the public, ensuring scale and quality.

Along with the fireworks display, Ho Chi Minh City will organize many cultural and artistic activities to welcome the new year 2026. The highlight is the Countdown program on the evening of December 31 at Nguyen Hue walking street (expected to expand to Le Loi street, Lam Son park and the City Theater area).

The event "Starting Waves of Dawn 2025" takes place throughout December 31 at Tam Thang Tower Square (Vung Tau Ward) with a sunrise run, yoga performance and evening art program. The Culinary Culture Festival takes place from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026 at Back Beach.

On the evening of December 31, many outdoor art programs were also held at the park in front of the old Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center and in wards and communes such as Dau Tieng, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, Go Vap, Phu Thanh...

Ho Chi Minh City will decorate the streets with artistic lighting. The City People's Committee Headquarters, the City Theater, the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Fine Arts Museum and the City Post Office will simultaneously turn on the decorative lighting system. At the same time, the streets will be decorated with artistic lighting.

The Department of Culture and Sports is the standing agency of the Organizing Committee for major holidays in Ho Chi Minh City, responsible for inspection and coordination of organization.

The units were assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to ensure security and order, fire safety and traffic flow, arrange forces at event venues, and promptly handle arising situations.
