According to the announcement, three localities, including Ho Chi Minh City , Hue, and Quang Ninh, have been named as impressive destinations of 2025 thanks to their outstanding achievements in tourism promotion and sustainable development orientation.
The award recognizes the efforts, achievements, and significant contributions of localities to the overall development of Vietnam's tourism industry.
In particular, Ho Chi Minh City affirmed its leading role, welcoming approximately 45 million domestic tourists and 8.5 million international tourists last year, contributing significantly to tourism revenue exceeding 278,000 billion VND. With this result, the city led the country in both tourist numbers and revenue, making a prominent contribution to Vietnam's tourism industry .
In 2025, the city will also promote the development of distinctive tourist routes, organize a series of large-scale events along with many meaningful commemorative programs. Simultaneously, it will implement effective communication campaigns and orient the development of inter-regional tourism, medical tourism, ecotourism, and sustainable tourism, thereby consolidating its position as a central hub connecting and spreading the value of tourism nationwide.
Also honored, Quang Ninh stands out with its strong growth in tourist numbers and the quality of its destinations.
In particular, the recognition of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac complex as a World Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO has contributed to elevating the image of Quang Ninh as a destination that combines heritage, nature, and sustainable development.
Meanwhile, Hue is witnessing a significant transformation as it hosts the National Tourism Year 2025, boosting cultural and festival activities while remaining steadfast in its commitment to green and sustainable tourism, enhancing the quality of experiences and the attractiveness of the ancient capital.
Also at HOTLIST 2025, the organizers honored 42 outstanding brands and 12 outstanding individuals from various sectors of the tourism industry such as accommodation, travel, aviation, services, and experiences.
The awards recognize the spirit of innovation, operational quality, sustainable development strategies, and positive contributions to enhancing the image and competitiveness of Vietnamese tourism on the regional and international map.
In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City aims to welcome approximately 11 million international tourists and 50 million domestic tourists. The total number of visitors is expected to reach 61 million, with projected revenue of around 330,000 billion VND.
To achieve this goal, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism stated that it will focus on implementing key tasks associated with integrated urban space, developing in-depth tourism products, improving service quality, and enhancing competitiveness.
Specifically, the industry will promote the application of digital technology in managing, promoting, and serving tourists; strengthen training and human resource development towards professionalism, meeting the requirements of integration and sustainable development, while also boosting promotion in European, American, and Middle Eastern markets.
