Ho Chi Minh City spreads green spirit through 'Great Unity Garden'

500 delegates planted 500 rosewood trees, contributing to greening the city and responding to the movement to build a green, clean, and beautiful living environment for the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

On the afternoon of November 28, within the framework of activities for delegates attending the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City (term 2025-2030), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a tree planting program in Tuong Binh Hiep 6 neighborhood, Chanh Hiep ward.

The project is named "Great Unity Garden" associated with the movement "City of Colorful Flowers", aiming to build a green - clean - beautiful urban space.

At the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received 100,000 trees supported by the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment. Of these, 500 rosewood trees were planted directly at the project, with the participation of City leaders and 500 delegates attending the Congress.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that tree planting is a practical activity to concretize the goals of the Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The city sets a target of maintaining a forest cover rate of 11% and increasing the urban green area to 5.5 m²/person in the coming years.

The movement “City of Colorful Flowers” ​​was launched to encourage people, communities and organizations to participate in planting and taking care of green areas; forming roads, alleys and residential areas with brilliant colors of flowers. This activity contributes to improving the quality of the living environment and promoting the role of the people in building a civilized, modern and humane urban area.

The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025-2030, will officially take place in 1.5 days (November 29 and morning of November 30) at the Binh Duong Exhibition Convention Center. The Congress is expected to have 880 delegates, including 500 official delegates and 380 invited delegates.
