On the afternoon of November 27, the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam to organize a workshop "Connecting Vietnamese and Chinese businesses".
The workshop is an important sideline activity of the Autumn Economic Forum 2025.
Commitment to promote Vietnam - China economic relations
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha said that Ho Chi Minh City is proud to be the leading locality attracting investment from China in Vietnam. Mr. Ha said that there are currently more than 800 investment projects from China with a total registered capital of nearly 3 billion USD.
Investment projects focus on the following areas: information technology and digital transformation; smart manufacturing and supporting industries; logistics and e-commerce; renewable energy and green technology.
Looking to the future, the city leader said that Ho Chi Minh City is building a comprehensive innovation ecosystem, with the goal of becoming the leading creative startup center in Southeast Asia.
In that effort, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to cooperate with Chinese enterprises in developing AI, big data, Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain.
Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized: "The innovative super urban project in Ho Chi Minh City will be an ideal space for Vietnam-China technology cooperation, creating a modern knowledge infrastructure to serve the development of the digital economy.
In addition, as a financial center, the city is ready to cooperate in developing digital financial products, cashless payments and green finance, meeting the needs of businesses of the two countries."
Aiming at cooperation to contribute to the Vietnam - China relationship, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed that the city is committed to continuing to improve the investment and business environment, simplify administrative procedures, and create maximum convenience for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop.
Ho Chi Minh City also committed to building special cooperation mechanisms, creating a bridge for Chinese enterprises to access the ASEAN market, as well as promoting cooperation in sustainable development, green economy and climate change response.
"As the economic locomotive of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is ready to be a reliable bridge and strategic partner for Chinese enterprises in their journey to conquer regional and global markets," Mr. Ha emphasized.
China continues to optimize the business environment for Vietnamese investors.

For his part, Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Duong Lap assessed that the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic partnership is constantly deepening.
Bilateral trade turnover has grown steadily, and infrastructure cooperation has been promoted. Industrial chains and supply chains have also been deeply integrated, creating a broad foundation for business cooperation.
Mr. Duong Lap said that 2025 is the planning year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026 - 2030) with a focus on high-quality development, bringing new opportunities for cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises.
The Chinese Consul General emphasized that in the coming period, China will continue to optimize the business environment, improve intellectual property protection, and open up more widely to foreign enterprises.
Mr. Duong pledged that the Consulate General will continue to promote its role as a bridge, promoting investment and substantive cooperation between localities and businesses of the two countries, bringing the cooperative relationship to a new level.

At the workshop, representatives of a number of Vietnamese enterprises and Chinese enterprises and localities presented papers on cooperation opportunities and investment attraction policies in a number of fields such as semiconductors, AI, IoT, smart logistics, green industry, etc.
Delegates affirmed that there is still a lot of room for cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises, especially in digital economy, smart cities, green production and advanced technology.
In which, Ho Chi Minh City plays a strategic bridge role to help businesses of the two countries connect supply chains and promote sustainable development models.
