| Ho Chi Minh City has increased inspection and supervision of similar establishments and strictly handled violations to ensure public health and safety. |
Previously, the Department of Food Safety inspected the business establishment, took samples of food ingredients (pate, chicken, butter, pickles, cucumbers) for testing, and conducted an epidemiological investigation and interviewed the patient to determine the origin of the food and the processing procedure.
According to information from Gia Dinh People's Hospital, blood culture and automatic identification results (BacT/Alert Virtuo - Smart MS5020) showed a case positive for Salmonella bacteria, a common agent causing food poisoning.
Currently, the Department of Food Safety is coordinating with the Department of Health, the People's Committee of Hanh Thong Ward and specialized agencies to update the patient's health status, count the number of cases and treatments. This agency is also waiting for the results of testing raw material samples and specimens to determine the exact cause of the incident, and take the next steps according to the current food poisoning investigation process.
In parallel with the investigation, the Department of Food Safety has increased propaganda and instructed food service establishments to strictly comply with food safety regulations such as: controlling the origin of raw materials; ensuring hygiene in preliminary processing, processing, and transportation; performing three-step food inspection and storing food samples.
In addition, the authorities also recommend that people choose safe food and reputable establishments, especially those providing processing services for large events. At the same time, they should strengthen inspection and supervision of similar establishments and strictly handle violations to ensure public health and safety.
