On November 28, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc had a meeting and worked with Mr. Eugene Willemsen - CEO of the international beverage division and Executive Vice President of PepsiCo Global, and the delegation.
As a business that has been operating in Vietnam for 31 years, PepsiCo has so far invested more than 1 billion USD and created more than 15,000 jobs.
In that context, Mr. Willemsen said he was looking forward to meeting with the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to discuss the development orientation of businesses in the coming time, as well as to listen to the orientations and share about cooperation opportunities so that businesses can continue to accompany the development of the city.
PepsiCo's global executive vice president said the company appreciates the opportunities and potential to expand its business in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City. Committed to complying and sharing while Vietnam is undergoing many changes in policies and regulations, Mr. Willemsen also expects the city to continue to accompany and support the company in speeding up procedures and licenses.

Mr. Willemsen also pointed out that there are many challenges in the process of converting from lump-sum tax to declared tax as reflected by business households, including distributors and retailers of PepsiCo products in Vietnam. The businesses also expect to receive additional support from Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc had direct discussions with each department to find a separate solution for each of PepsiCo's recommendations.
Regarding the issue of business household tax, Mr. Duoc said that tax declaration is a transformation of Vietnam in management to be more suitable with international standards. The leader of Ho Chi Minh City said that the transformation process will have many initial challenges, because the market is not familiar with it, but the Government is having many accompanying policies and supporting people in this matter.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also welcomed PepsiCo's business and expansion plans in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City, along with its orientation to develop a circular economy , with solutions on sustainable and recycled packaging with the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam).

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Willemsen said PepsiCo and Suntory continue to reaffirm their belief in the growth and potential of Ho Chi Minh City, and wish to strengthen close cooperation with the city government.
