The 2026 Spring Festival Cycling and Roller Race is organized to continue implementing the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh" campaign for the period 2021-2030. It aims to encourage a large number of people in the city to regularly practice sports, contributing to improving public health to better serve the construction and protection of the city and the country. The tournament is organized as an activity to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026) and to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

The tournament is open to all amateur athletes from cycling clubs in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces, cities, and government agencies; cyclists who have not competed in national competitions organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation before 2023; and all athletes from roller sports clubs in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces, cities, and government agencies are eligible to register.
The Organizing Committee requires registration to be done as a team, not individually. Registration forms must be certified by the head of the governing body, and the deadline for registration is January 29, 2026. In addition, participating athletes must have a health certificate from a district-level or higher hospital certifying their fitness to participate in the competition and commit to taking full responsibility for any accidents that may occur during the competition. The tournament includes the following events: Men's Road Cycling (each club can register 2 teams for 2 age groups: 16-40 and 41-60), Team Time Trial Cycling (each club can register 1 men's and 1 women's team), Roller Marathon Group 1 Men/Women (each club can register multiple athletes and 1 team leader for each age group/team: Men/Women aged 10-13), and Roller Marathon Group 2 Men/Women (each club can register multiple athletes and 1 team leader for each age group/team: Men/Women aged 14 and above). The competition rules apply the current Vietnamese Cycling rules combined with the UCI Road Cycling rules; the Vietnam Skating and Roller Federation in collaboration with WS.
The competition will take place on February 1st, 2026, with athletes competing in formats specific to each event, covering distances from 5.5km to 41.4km depending on the category.
The cycling race route will start and finish on Mai Chi Tho Street near the Nguyen Co Thach intersection, before the Sala and Dai Quang Minh urban areas. The route on Mai Chi Tho Street runs from the D1 intersection to the To Huu Street intersection. (6.9 km/lap)
The Roller Marathon race route starts and finishes on Mai Chi Tho Street near the Nguyen Co Thach intersection, before the Sala and Dai Quang Minh urban areas. Group 1 follows the Mai Chi Tho road route from the Tran Quy Kien intersection to the To Huu intersection (5.5 km/lap), while Group 2 follows the Mai Chi Tho road route from the D1 intersection to the To Huu intersection (6.9 km/lap).
The Organizing Committee of the Tournament will hold the closing ceremony and award prizes at 11:45 AM on the same day, February 1st, 2026.
