In conclusion, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee supports the investor's proposal to adjust the starting point of the urban railway connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio from Tan Thuan station (old District 7) to Ben Thanh station.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee believes that adjusting the route to Ben Thanh station aims to improve operational efficiency, increase service coverage and connectivity to residential areas, commercial centers and the city's administrative economic center.
Furthermore, moving the starting point to Ben Thanh station will increase connectivity with the city's metro network, contributing to the formation of a synchronous and convenient public transport network for people.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested VinSpeed High-Speed Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company to continue researching the route to ensure feasibility, optimize exploitation capacity, and increase connectivity according to the city's urban space development orientation.
Investors need to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to update the route direction into the city's urban railway planning.
At the same time, VinSpeed urgently completed the plan to submit to the Appraisal Council for approval of the investment policy and approval of the investor for the urban railway project connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio.
The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Director of the Department of Finance of Ho Chi Minh City (Chairman of the Appraisal Council) to urgently organize the appraisal of the dossier requesting approval of investment policy and approval of investors according to legal regulations, and submit it to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for consideration and decision.
Previously, on October 20, VinSpeed High-Speed Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee proposing to change the starting point of the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio railway line from Tan Thuan ward to the current Ben Thanh station to connect with metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien). The ending point in Can Gio commune will remain unchanged compared to the previous proposal.
In the document, VinSpeed said that during the research process, placing the starting point of the route in Tan Thuan ward will lead to some difficulties.
After research, VinSpeed proposed to reduce compensation, support and resettlement costs, the section from Ben Thanh - Tan Thuan will be built underground, the section from Tan Thuan - Can Gio will continue to be implemented according to the previously proposed plan.
