Ho Chi Minh City: 50 workers hospitalized after lunch at the company

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety is investigating a suspected food poisoning case that hospitalized 50 workers of a company in Dong Hung Thuan Ward, District 12 after lunch on November 10. Food samples have been taken for testing, and results will be announced after the official conclusion.

On November 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety informed that when there is an official conclusion, the unit will provide information to the press.

According to the report of Dong Hung Thuan Ward People's Committee, the company has a total of 1,152 employees. At noon on November 10, 410 workers had lunch at the company, after which 50 people showed symptoms such as nausea, stomachache, red rash, itchy face... and were taken to medical facilities for treatment.

Specifically, Central America West Regional Hospital received 27 cases (20 females, 1 male), Tan Phu Regional Hospital 7 cases, Tan Binh Regional Hospital 10 cases and Thanh Cong General Hospital 6 cases (5 males, 1 female).

As of 5:00 p.m. on November 10, 41 cases had been discharged from the hospital, while 9 cases continued to be monitored, including 7 people at the Central America West Regional Hospital and 2 people at Tan Binh Regional Hospital.

Dong Hung Thuan Ward People's Committee said that the above enterprise signed a contract to supply industrial meals with Sao Thien Ha Production Service Trading Company Limited (address: No. 7, Lane 44, Vo Thi Sau Street, Thanh Nhan Ward, Hanoi City), with the form of organizing a kitchen at the enterprise. This facility has a certificate of food safety eligibility.
