On November 28, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital ( Ho Chi Minh City) announced that it had just received 60 patients suspected of food poisoning.
These are workers of Viva Vina Limited Liability Company Branch 1, located at 450/60 Nguyen Thi Ngau, Hamlet 1, Dong Thanh Commune, Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, on the evening of November 27, the hospital continuously received patients with symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, itching, dizziness, and red skin rash.
After being examined and actively treated, 24 cases had to be hospitalized for further treatment, the remaining 36 cases were allowed to go home for monitoring by doctors.
According to the food supplier, the lunch menu includes fried fish with fish sauce, boiled white cabbage, and sour soup with bean sprouts and okra.
Doctors determined that the fish was a suspected food poisoning agent. The hospital took samples to test for the cause of the poisoning.
Also on the evening of November 27, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) said that the unit received 19 students from Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc Ward) who were admitted to the emergency room with anaphylactic symptoms after lunch at school.
Of these, 2 cases of grade 2 anaphylaxis were admitted to the Department of Infectious Diseases for monitoring, 17 cases of grade 1 anaphylaxis were treated symptomatically, given prescriptions and discharged.
According to the hospital's assessment, the students may have had anaphylactic reactions due to a type of fish in their meal.
The two above cases have been reported by the hospitals to the Medical Professional Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health ), the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) and the City Department of Food Safety for investigation, clarification of the cause and handling according to regulations./.
