The "Teardrop" emblem is crafted from high-durability, rust-resistant mirror-finish stainless steel, with a bright, reflective surface that reflects the surrounding space. The structure is approximately 6 meters high and 13 meters in circumference. The highlight of the artwork is its hollow design with a heart-shaped cutout in the center. When natural light shines through, the heart shape becomes clearly visible, creating a visually evocative effect.

According to the investor's representative, the design conveys a message of compassion, love, and community sharing during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sculptor Pham Van Hang, who participated in advising on the design concept, said that the teardrop image symbolizes grief for those who died from the epidemic, while the heart is a symbol of humanity, community support, as well as the dedication of doctors, nurses, frontline workers, and scientists .
He shared that, after many years in the profession, this is the work that evokes the most personal emotions and passion, conveyed through eight words: "Heart filled with longing and dreams, tears of affection and loyalty."

According to the sculptor, the design and construction process was carried out urgently within 90 days with the participation of many architects and collaborators. The project not only has a commemorative significance but also demonstrates a spirit of daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility in approaching cultural and memorial spaces in modern cities. He also proposed engraving humanistic messages from famous figures in multiple languages in the park, aiming to spread the shared humanistic values of humanity after the pandemic.
The COVID-19 Memorial Park was built to commemorate the solidarity and unity of the government and people of Ho Chi Minh City in the fight against the pandemic. According to the design, the main entrance is located at the corner of Ly Thai To and Hung Vuong streets, leading to a welcoming square and a central fountain square covering approximately 1,800 m² , where the "Tear Drop" symbol is placed. The water feature is designed in a stepped style, combined with an artistic lighting system featuring thousands of lights, creating a stunning nighttime landscape.

Besides green spaces, grassy hills, and viewing pavilions, the project also preserves and renovates four old villas within the grounds to be converted into a community center, library, and art exhibition space. The investor is currently proposing four name options for the park: Life Park, Tomorrow Park, Connection Park, and Aspiration Park.
