Ho Chi Minh City aims for sustainable tourism development

The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2024) will be held from September 5-7, with the theme "Sustainable tourism, creating the future".

Introducing the event at the Vietnam International Travel Mart - VITM Hanoi 2024, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu said that over the past 17 years, ITE HCMC has been successfully organized and has contributed significantly to expanding the market share of international tourists to Vietnam, creating a breakthrough in tourism promotion and advertising nationwide in general and in Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

ITE HCMC 2024 continues to be the only tourism fair with an International Buyers program, expected to attract 220 international buyers from 40 countries and territories, creating more than 10,000 business appointments, providing opportunities for direct exchange and contact between international and Vietnamese tourism businesses in the form of B2B.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the scale of this year's fair has been expanded in terms of area and number of booths compared to previous fairs, estimated to attract more than 500 exhibitors and brands including international tourism promotion agencies, Departments and Tourism Promotion Centers, local tourism associations, travel companies, travel agents, accommodation establishments, airlines and transportation units...

In addition to the traditional direct display format, the fair also has 2D online booths providing information and images of products and services of exhibitors with many outstanding features such as: live chat, email, appointment scheduling, helping international buyers and exhibitors easily find suitable partners.

In addition to trade activities and cultural and artistic promotion, ITE HCMC 2024 also has a series of diverse and vibrant conference and seminar programs, serving as a bridge between leaders, experts, researchers, international sellers and buyers in the fields of tourism, hospitality, technology, and communications to exchange ideas, share experiences and discuss important issues in digital transformation to promote sustainable development.

The highlight of the event is the High-level Tourism Forum with the theme “Sustainable Tourism, Creating the Future” which is expected to attract more than 200 delegates to discuss strategies, policies and means to promote digital transformation, ensure sustainable and responsible tourism economic development; thereby building an effective linkage and coordination mechanism to mobilize resources to implement green transformation in tourism.
