The Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Document No. 5715/SCT-QLTM on proactively sourcing goods, responding to the impact of natural disasters and ensuring the supply of essential goods in the city.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, recently, the weather has been unfavorable in many localities, especially prolonged rain and storms causing landslides in Lam Dong and high tides and flooding in some provinces in the Mekong Delta. This has directly affected the production, harvesting and circulation of agricultural products, especially vegetables, tubers and fruits. This situation poses a potential risk of reduced supply, local shortages and price fluctuations in the city.
The Department of Industry and Trade requested that distribution systems in the area proactively forecast demand, develop plans to reserve and supply abundant and stable food and foodstuff sources in all situations; resolutely not to allow supply disruptions, artificial scarcity, speculation, and unreasonable price increases to occur.

Continue to strictly control the quality of goods, encourage participation in "Green Tick Responsibility" to prevent goods of unknown origin, ensuring food safety for consumers.
Closely coordinate with suppliers to monitor and grasp the situation of preparing for the Tet crop season from raw material areas (planting area, expected output, etc.), promptly report difficulties and problems to the Department of Industry and Trade to synthesize and advise the City People's Committee on appropriate support solutions, ensuring the supply of agricultural products to serve the Tet market.
The Department of Industry and Trade requests the management units of the wholesale markets: Thu Duc, Binh Dien, Hoc Mon: Closely monitor the total volume of goods entering the market and prices each night. Actively coordinate with traders to coordinate goods sources, ensure adequate supply of essential goods; strengthen inspection and supervision of price posting and selling at the correct listed price. Closely coordinate with the Market Management force and local authorities to strictly handle acts of hoarding, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases.

For businesses participating in the "Market Stabilization" Program, the Department of Industry and Trade recommends strictly implementing the Regulations on the Market Stabilization Program; proactively creating sources of goods, ensuring supply exceeding registered output, prioritizing vegetables, tubers, and fruits; strictly controlling the point of sale system, ensuring full display of goods, clear price listing, and selling at the registered price.
In addition, it is necessary to be ready to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to deploy mobile sales trips to serve people in areas where there are local shortages (if any). Conduct reviews, assessments and promptly propose solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the production, circulation and distribution of goods...
