According to the plan, from the 2026 school year, all admissions for grades 1, 6 and 10 will be conducted entirely online on the common system at tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn. Data is synchronized from the industry database and national population data, in which the information of "current residence" verified on VNeID is an important criterion for admission.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires schools to complete a review and update their facilities, classroom area, and student reception capacity; principals are responsible for the accuracy of the data. This information will be used as a basis for establishing enrollment targets for the 2026-2027 school year.
Wards, communes, and special zones coordinate with the Department to count the number of school-age children, verify residential information, and ensure that all students have personal identification codes and accurate data on the system. The city requires that parents not submit additional documents when information has been verified on VNeID, except in necessary cases according to regulations.
The 2026 - 2027 school year admission schedule includes 4 phases: From January 1 to February 28, 2026, review student data across the city, assess the reception capacity of each educational institution; from February 1 to March 31, 2026, draft admission plan, collect opinions and officially issue; from March 31 to May 31, 2026, propagate and disseminate the plan; receive registration documents; prepare facilities; from June 1 to August 31, 2026, organize exams, admission, supervision and summary.
The 10th grade entrance exam continues to combine the entrance exam and selection with three subjects: Math, Literature and English. The city aims to mobilize at least 70% of junior high school graduates to enter public 10th grade, equivalent to about 150,000 9th grade students in the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the 2026-2027 enrollment will be carried out uniformly to reduce errors, increase transparency, and ensure scientific student allocation among localities, avoiding local overload.
The People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones are responsible for resolving complaints within their authority, synthesizing and reporting contents beyond their authority to the Department of Education and Training. The work of protecting students' personal data is required to be strictly implemented in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection.
