The 2025-2026 school year is the first year that the "Viet dieu trang thanh" contest is organized throughout the industry with the goal of bringing traditional music closer to the young generation through a professional performance competition model.
The contest, organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Sofia Art, is for students aged 12-18 in the area, demonstrating their talents in folk arts including: amateur singing and reformed opera, performing traditional musical instruments and folk singing and dancing.
Students are also encouraged to learn about traditional music genres and instruments to preserve, conserve and promote traditional values.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Huynh Le Nhu Trang, said: "The education and training sector of Ho Chi Minh City is striving to achieve the goal of each student knowing how to play and participate in performing at least one art form, thereby comprehensively developing their knowledge, physical strength and ability to appreciate art."

The contest "Vietnamese Moonlight Dance" consists of 3 rounds.
Round 1 (preliminary) takes place from November 11, 2025 to November 30, 2015. Contestants submit videos in groups or individually for the organizing committee to select 30-50 entries for round 2.
Round 2 takes place from December 1, 2025 to December 30, 2025. Selected performances from round 1 will be trained intensively by a team of artists and folk music lecturers from prestigious universities and training institutions in the country. Then, the 20 best performances will be selected for round 3.
In round 3 (final), contestants will perform traditional art performances for the jury to judge and award first, second and third prizes. The final round is expected to take place on January 22, 2026.
The prize structure includes: First prize worth 100 million VND in cash along with an album recording contract and tuition for intensive music training; Second prize worth 80 million VND along with an intensive music training course; Third prize worth 50 million VND along with an intensive music training course.
