According to records, at 7:00 a.m. on December 2, the peak tide at some measuring stations in the area reached high levels, as follows: Nha Be station (Dong Dien river) at 1.53m, 0.03m above alert level 2; Phu An station (Saigon river) at 1.54m, 0.04m above alert level 2; Thu Dau Mot station (Saigon river) at 1.63m, 0.03m above alert level 3.

It is forecasted that the highest tide of this period will fall on December 5-6, at: Phu An and Nha Be stations at 1.65-1.70m, 0.05-0.10m above alert level 3; Thu Dau Mot station at 1.73-1.78m, 0.13-0.18m above alert level 3. The peak tide will appear from 4-6am and from 5-7pm.
People need to be on guard against the risk of flooding in low-lying areas and along rivers, especially when high tides combine with heavy rain and strong northeast monsoon winds, which can affect traffic and daily life.

Regarding weather developments in December, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that total rainfall tends to decrease compared to November, with 5-10 rainy days in the month. The highest temperature is commonly from 30-33 degrees Celsius; the lowest temperature is commonly from 21-25 degrees Celsius.
During the first week of the month, rain may occur locally in some places, with the possibility of moderate to heavy rain. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind. During the middle and last weeks of the month, rain will gradually decrease, with widespread rain in some places or no rain at all.
In addition, it is necessary to closely monitor the situation of tropical depressions and storms that may appear 1-2 more times in the East Sea in December.
