Dakrong and Huong Hoa districts of Quang Tri province have great potential for tourism development, especially community tourism; homestay tourism, farmstay tourism and event tourism. In recent times, the types of tourism in this area have become really attractive, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists to experience.

A Lao Stream, in Ta Lao Village, Ta Long Commune, Dakrong District, is an ideal community tourism destination that attracts a large number of visitors to experience. During the summer and long holidays, the number of visitors booking places to eat and explore services at A Lao Stream increases dramatically. The community tourism cooperative has proactively renovated the destination, invested in solid bamboo huts, and posted a service price list to bring visitors the best impressions.

Another famous tourist destination that many people are interested in is community tourism in Chenh Venh village, Huong Phung commune. This is the first community tourism model in Huong Hoa district. This tourist destination is assigned to 5 households in Ro Ve hamlet to manage with the aim of creating jobs, increasing income for people and contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Van Kieu ethnic minority.

Coming to Chenh Venh, tourists can experience the daily life of the locals; watch locals perform indigenous culture such as: activities in stilt houses, traditional costumes, cultural and artistic performances with gong dances, folk songs of Ta Ai, Xa Not; tourists can enjoy the scenery, fly kites, camp at Sa Muoi hill and visit the bamboo forest, enjoy the cuisine ... This attracts more and more tourists to Chenh Venh.

Chairman of Huong Phung Commune People's Committee Phan Ngoc Long said that the community tourism site of Chenh Venh village has been attracting many tourists from inside and outside the province to explore and experience. December is the beginning of the annual tourist season in this area.

At the tourist site, there are 21 locals who specialize in serving tourists. During holidays and Tet, there are a lot of visitors, the area's occupancy rate reaches 100%, and on normal days, the occupancy rate reaches 50%.

On average, the tourist area welcomes more than 2,000 visitors each year, of which an estimated 450 stay overnight. Currently, families in the Ro Ve hamlet have redecorated their homestays and renovated the landscape to prepare for the tourist season.

Coming to the mountainous region of Quang Tri, tourists are very fond of the agricultural tourism site Tropical Garden in Tan Xuyen village, Tan Hop commune, Huong Hoa district. Mr. Nguyen Van Me, the owner of this resort, said that the tourist area was developed on an area of 10,000 ^m2 of his family's land.

Mr. Me built this place into an agricultural tourism address with many areas such as: 5 accommodation houses with a capacity of 30-50 guests; greenhouses for growing and displaying flowers, tropical flower gardens, fruit gardens, fish ponds... During peak season, the resort operates at 80% capacity, the rest of the year it averages about 50% capacity. Guests coming to the resort include local, foreign and foreign guests.

In particular, recently, there have been visitors from Nha Trang, Bac Lieu, and Hanoi coming to experience the experience with a stay of usually 3 days and 2 nights. When coming to Tropical Garden Farm, visitors can experience the local culture and cuisine; participate in activities such as planting trees, picking fruits, and fishing. Along with that, visitors are also introduced and guided to the attractions in the area.

Chairman of Huong Hoa District People's Committee Tran Binh Thuan said that in recent times, Huong Hoa District has focused on directing the development of community tourism, homestay, and farmstay, thereby initially forming quite diverse and attractive tourism products for tourists. Many tourism products with local characteristics have been gradually exploited in a targeted manner, meeting the needs of tourists for sightseeing and experience according to different goals.

Most of the homestay and farmstay models in Huong Hoa are built by young people, so the ideas and methods are always new and creative. The district currently has 23 tourism models, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience, especially on weekends, holidays and Tet.

Tourism products in Huong Hoa district focus on the following groups: products exploiting the value of ecological landscapes, forests, rivers, streams; products exploiting agricultural production activities; products exploiting the traditional cultural values of the Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups associated with cultural values, historical relics, festivals...

Many units and businesses have come to survey to establish investment projects to build resort tourism models in localities with tourism potential in Huong Hoa such as Huong Viet, Huong Lap, Huong Linh, Huong Phung, Khe Sanh, and Tan Hop communes.

In addition, the district has directed specialized agencies to survey and advise on plans to develop community tourism combined with eco-tourism in Trang-Ta Puong village, Huong Viet commune.

Besides the rich and unique natural scenery, the cultural identity of the Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups is one of the outstanding potentials for exploiting and developing tourism in the district. The unique cultural features are preserved and maintained by the Van Kieu and Pa Ko people as the soul of their people.

The diversity and richness of traditional culture is expressed through customs, festivals, costumes, cuisine... which are always attractive and unique, making tourists want to learn more. With nature discovery tourism, experiencing indigenous culture in a community-oriented way, Huong Hoa is an ideal place to develop diverse discovery journeys such as trekking, waterfall bathing, camping, learning about history, indigenous culture and enjoying the cuisine of the Van Kieu and Pa Ko people.

These activities will bring deep, new and attractive experiences to tourists and help people earn more income, have more motivation to protect forests and better preserve the cultural values of their people.
