On December 9th, at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Historical Site, the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi and Nhau Studio, inaugurated the art exhibition "Identity Formation" by artist Minh Dam and the Gala Concert program by OSP Nadarzyn.
The exhibition was organized to coincide with cultural activities concluding the series of celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland, contributing to promoting artistic exchange between the two countries.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Joanna Skoczek, Ambassador of Poland to Vietnam, stated: "Over the past year, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, together with partners in Poland and Vietnam, has organized numerous cultural, educational, economic , and artistic activities, celebrating the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Poland. Over the past seven decades, thousands of Vietnamese students have graduated from Polish universities, including those born in Vietnam but raised and studied in Poland, carrying within them a unique blend of the two cultures. One of them is the artist Minh Dam, whose personal story, shaped by his experiences traveling between Poland and Vietnam, is beautifully reflected in the exhibition 'Identity Formed,' demonstrating that identity is not diminished but enriched when one belongs to two cultures."
"Identity Formed" is a large-scale solo exhibition by artist Minh Đàm – a prominent figure in contemporary watercolor painting, with over 20 years of creative work spanning from Vietnam to Europe. This time, more than 200 representative works are presented chronologically from 2005 to the present, marking the first time his two-decade series of works has been systematically exhibited in Vietnam.
As part of the event, following the opening ceremony, the audience enjoyed a Gala Concert by the OSP Nadarzyn Orchestra from Poland - one of Europe's outstanding brass orchestras, having won numerous Polish, European, and world championships in brass band parades and performances.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from now until December 26, 2025.
