Unique night bike tour powered by technology.
On the evening of December 17th, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Vietnam Sustainable Tourism Company (VIETNAM STID) and TNGo, launched a trial night bike tour. This activity is part of a series of events to introduce a new night tour experience in Hanoi called "Hanoi Beautiful Sound," taking place from December 19th to 21st at Hanoi Book Street.
The product is implemented through the TNGo public bicycle app, making it easy for tourists to access and proactively choose their itinerary to explore Hanoi at night. According to Phung Quang Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Green Tourism Association, the "Hanoi Beautiful Sound" night bicycle tour is a pioneering experiential tourism product that harmoniously combines urban heritage, environmentally friendly exercise, and digital technology .

A unique feature of the tour is its GPS-based online commentary system, which automatically activates content as visitors pass each landmark. Each destination is a slice of history, a piece of urban memory recounted concisely, richly visual and emotional, perfectly suited to the nighttime setting. This experience is not only convenient for domestic tourists but also easily accessible to international visitors in various languages, contributing to a modern, civilized, and sustainable approach to heritage exploration.
Tourists simply need to scan the QR code to download the TNGo ride-hailing app and the automatic commentary app in 5 languages to experience a journey exploring Hanoi. The tour is designed with two travel routes to meet the diverse needs of tourists.

The Bat Co route is a short route focusing on the central area of Cua Nam ward in Hanoi, suitable for tourists with limited time but still wanting to fully experience the spirit of a night bike tour. Starting from Hanoi Book Street (Ly Thuong Kiet Street bike station), tourists travel past the Supreme People's Court, Hoa Lo Prison historical site, return to Hanoi Book Street on Hai Ba Trung Street, continue to the National Museum of History, the Grand Opera House, the Northern Revolutionary Historical Site, the State Bank of Vietnam building, and end the journey at the bike drop-off station near the BIDV building. This route reflects the "modern and contemporary Hanoi," clearly showcasing the revolutionary struggle, urban architecture, and cultural life of the capital in the 20th century.

The route to Ba Dinh Square is a long, highly symbolic journey, taking visitors through the layers of Hanoi's historical and cultural heritage. Starting from Hanoi Book Street, the group cycles past iconic landmarks and historical sites such as Hoa Lo Prison, the Hanoi Flagpole, and Thang Long Imperial Citadel; continuing along the sacred Bac Son – Ba Dinh axis with the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs, Ba Dinh Square, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the National Assembly Building, and the Presidential Palace. The journey expands to the waters of West Lake and Truc Bach Lake, passing Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda, before returning to the Old Quarter and ending at Hanoi Book Street. This tour is suitable for visitors who want a comprehensive view of the history and development of the thousand-year-old capital city.
With years of experience welcoming foreign tourists, Ms. Truong Ngoc Anh, Director of AA Hospitality Joint Stock Company, shared after trying out the night bicycle tour: With a concise itinerary and clear directions, the Hanoi bicycle tour could become a "specialty" attracting tourists, especially international visitors, because they really enjoy driving their own vehicles to explore Hanoi's streets. Using public bicycles (electric bikes or self-pedal bikes) is suitable for accessing and exploring the "small alleys and streets" of the capital. If this product continues to be upgraded, combined with culinary experiences and more stories told at the stops, the tour will certainly become even more attractive to tourists.

According to a representative from the Department of Tourism, the "Hanoi Beautiful Sound" night cycling tour is not just a sightseeing product, but also a message about green tourism, slow tourism, and responsible tourism. Using bicycles helps reduce emissions, limit noise, and restore tranquility to the heritage area. Automated audio guides contribute to reducing pressure on human resources and open up a new approach to managing and exploiting urban tourism. More importantly, the tour facilitates reconnection between locals and tourists with Hanoi, without haste or noise, but by listening, feeling, and appreciating the enduring values of the capital at night.
Creating nighttime tourism products from urban memories.
"How beautiful Hanoi is!" is a familiar line from the song "People of Hanoi" by composer Nguyen Dinh Thi, a work that has accompanied many generations of Vietnamese people when mentioning the capital city. Inspired by this, the series of activities promoting Hanoi's night tourism products in 2025, titled "Hanoi Beautiful Sound," is organized as a new way of telling stories about Hanoi – gently, subtly, and emotionally through the city's distinctive sounds.

The program took place from December 19th to 21st at the Hanoi Book Street 19/2, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi City. This activity was in response to the Hanoi City Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Program 2025, chaired by the Hanoi Department of Tourism and organized in coordination with the People's Committee of Cua Nam Ward, aiming to revitalize night tourism experiences and spread the cultural values of the Capital City through a modern approach.
The opening night (December 19th) was considered the highlight of the series of activities, featuring many visually appealing and engaging promotional elements. These included the screening of videos showcasing Hanoi's night tourism products and tour routes, giving visitors an overview of the city's evolving night tourism landscape. Simultaneously, the "Hanoi Culinary Tourism Map" was officially launched, and the "Hanoi Beautiful Sound" night cycling tour was introduced as a new experiential product aligned with the green tourism trend.

Over the course of three days, "Hanoi Beautiful Sound" offers locals and tourists the opportunity to experience a wide range of emotions through a series of events designed to blend physical activity, enjoyment, and creative interaction.
Another notable aspect of "Hanoi Beautiful Sound" is the design of numerous creative and interactive spaces right in the heart of Hanoi's Book Street. Throughout the program, artistic performances and interactive shows are held at the main stage and auxiliary stages, creating a continuous and vibrant cultural atmosphere.

The decorated space is thoughtfully designed, combining visual and auditory elements, blending the festive spirit of Christmas with traditional Hanoi materials. Food carts, gift shops, and displays of Hanoi tourist souvenirs create a self-contained experience, catering to the sightseeing, enjoyment, and shopping needs of visitors.
Within the framework of the program, the Dinh Ty Book Fair was also organized with many activities for readers and visitors. From book display and exhibition spaces to workshops such as "A Magical Christmas with Dinh Ty Books" or "Welcoming the New Year by Doing Something New," the Book Fair contributed to enriching the cultural depth of the night tourism activities.
In particular, the "Hanoi Beautiful Sound Studio" is designed as an open space where visitors can experience the sounds of Hanoi, try out musical instruments, and create their own melodies. The CD painting and decoration workshop at the "Remarkable CD Workshop" offers everyone the opportunity to express their love for Hanoi through unique and creative products.
