Visiting Da Lat - Lam Dong , tourists can experience and enjoy Vietnamese coffee on a vintage train carriage at Da Lat station, with a unique "mobile coffee" space on the 14km round trip journey between Da Lat and Trai Mat. This train is called the "Da Lat Coffee Train," with the heritage King Coffee carriages officially serving tourists from December 15th.
On December 14th, at Da Lat station , the Saigon Railway Transport Branch, Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, and TNI King Coffee Limited Liability Company held a ceremony to announce the inauguration and operation of the "Da Lat Coffee Train," featuring King Coffee heritage carriages to serve tourists visiting and experiencing the city of a thousand flowers, Da Lat.

According to Le Anh Tuan, Director of the Saigon Railway Transport Branch, this is an experiential tourism product resulting from a collaboration between Vietnam Railways and King Coffee, an event aimed at celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

"Da Lat Coffee Train" aims to create a "distinctive and unique product," which is "experiential tourism and enjoying Vietnamese coffee on a train." This can be described as a unique "mobile coffee" experience.

The vintage train carriages at Da Lat station have been renovated and decorated with interior designs based on the Heritage Coffee Tour model, creating a unique and distinctive product and becoming a new milestone in serving tourists on vintage trains, while also spreading Vietnamese coffee culture to the world .

On the DL1 and DL2 journeys of the "Da Lat Coffee Train," passengers can enjoy a cup of fragrant coffee in the cool weather of the dreamy mountain town; listen to soothing music played on violins and saxophones by artists performing in the train carriages; and admire the scenery of Da Lat through the windows of the vintage train carriages… creating a unique and unforgettable experience.

Experiencing the "Da Lat Coffee Train" on its opening day, accompanied by the melodious sound of the violin, South Korean tourist Kim Tae Jung expressed his delight, saying: "This is the first time I've enjoyed Vietnamese coffee in the space of a vintage train carriage and the train rolling along is so interesting. A great initiative for tourism and culture in Da Lat."

Ms. Le Tu Uyen, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared the same sentiment: "It's wonderful to enjoy coffee in such a unique setting and experience."

Hero of Labor during the Renovation Period, Nguyen Dinh Truong, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Entrepreneurs Association, is sipping a hot cup of coffee in the cool, sunny weather of Da Lat on the "Da Lat Coffee Train," a round trip from Da Lat to Trai Mat, immersed in the sounds of violin music. Pausing the music, he said: "This is an interesting combination of railway and heritage, tourism and services, which will surely attract tourists with its unique experience. Combining tourism with experiencing the specialties of the Central Highlands, visitors will be captivated by Da Lat."

Sharing an experience on the "Da Lat Coffee Train," Mr. Thai Van Truyen, Director of the Saigon Railway Branch, informed that in recent years, the Vietnam Railway Corporation and the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company have developed many new tourism products, such as the "railway-flower route" on the Da Lat-Trai Mat line, the tourist train called "Da Lat Night Journey," and the introduction of two "La Reine" carriages at Da Lat station... At the same time, they have repaired and renovated the station and flower gardens at Da Lat station, built a documentary film screening room; brought music onto the train, held musical performances on the platform, organized weddings and other convenient services on the train.

Based on the aforementioned tourism products and amenities, the Da Lat Railway Station historical site was recognized as a "tourist destination" by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee in June 2024. These new tourism products have been highly appreciated by domestic and international tourists, and the number of visitors experiencing the trains is increasing. It is projected that by 2025, 2,800 trains will operate on the Da Lat-Trai Mat route, bringing in over 200,000 passengers and generating revenue of approximately 18 billion VND.

“We expect that the ‘Da Lat Coffee Train’ will become a new and inspiring destination, enriching the experience of tourists visiting Da Lat-Lam Dong,” Mr. Truyen shared.
