The central market of Ha Giang 2 ward has 3 floors, nearly 300 stalls and many business areas, and used to be a crowded and effective trading place.

Although there is a wide variety of goods, the shopping atmosphere here has been quite quiet in recent years. Many traders said that the number of customers has decreased a lot compared to before.

The grocery stalls on the first floor, even on weekends, only have a few customers coming to shop.

In a row of iron shops inside, there were also very few customers, so the vendor took the opportunity to prepare food for lunch.

The vendors are used to sitting quietly waiting for customers. Some said they only sold 1-2 items for a few tens of thousands of dong all morning.

On the second floor, which used to be crowded with customers shopping for clothes, there are now few customers.

The pork stalls also had few customers, so some vendors left their goods unsold.

A vegetable vendor said that because there are many street vendors outside, fewer and fewer people are buying vegetables in the market.

The 3rd floor of the central market of Ha Giang 1 ward is now... abandoned.

Through research, it is known that the number of customers has decreased sharply since the explosion of online shopping, along with the appearance of many mini supermarkets, convenience stores and street vendors outside.

According to the Management Board of the Ha Giang 2 Ward Central Market, from about 300 stalls, the market now has only over 200 stalls. Faced with the difficulties of the traditional market, there have been proposals to renovate and upgrade the market, but so far it has only been an idea on paper.

Many stalls have closed or are not renting stalls.

Faced with the lack of customers, small traders want to reduce booth rental fees and taxes. At the same time, they are trying to find ways to adapt to the new trading conditions.
