Born in 2000 in Hanoi , Tran Viet Long has a severe motor disability: the left side of his body is paralyzed, his left arm is stiff, and his left leg limps. Long's parents are farmers, working all year round with the fields, crops, sun and rain, with many ups and downs.
Since childhood, Long was taught by his parents to do housework that suited his abilities such as: cooking, sweeping, drying clothes, taking care of cows, chickens, ducks, etc. When he was a little older, Long began to learn how to take care of crops and ornamental plants: watering, weeding, planting and harvesting. Long gradually felt his own value, saw himself as useful and was confident that he could do things like everyone else.
Instead of choosing to withdraw, Long chose to stand up - even with just one hand - to touch the world and rewrite his life journey with his own will.
“Only when I study and work, I feel useful” - that is the philosophy of life that Long always mentions. It is that determination that helps him persevere in school, overcome inferiority complex and pitying looks to pursue the path of knowledge.

As one of the first members of the Vietnamese disabled group, Tran Viet Long was inspired by the “IT knight” Nguyen Cong Hung - the pioneer who opened the path to learning technology for the disabled. From that inspiration, Long devoted all his energy to learning programming, with the desire to prove that the disabled can completely live independently and contribute to society.
In the program “Love Station”, the audience will witness the touching story of Tran Viet Long’s journey – from a half-paralyzed farmer boy to an information technology lecturer. The program also brought a surprise when teacher Vu Phong Ky – who had accompanied and guided Long – appeared to send him emotional congratulations.
At that moment, the program’s “door of love” opened, connecting the teacher and student with the same aspiration: to bring technology to the less fortunate. It was not just tears, but also the belief that each person can continue writing their own story with perseverance and love.
Not only does Tran Viet Long strive to overcome his own limitations, he is also a dedicated teacher and a beacon of inspiration in the disabled community. Long won third prize at the Global Information Technology Challenge (GITC) 2022 in China and second prize at GITC 2023 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) - a proud achievement not only for him personally but also for the disabled community in Vietnam.

Tran Viet Long is currently the coach of the Vietnam disabled team. What is special is that he does not receive any remuneration for this work. Outside of work, Long spends time instructing skills and sharing experiences with disabled contestants preparing for international competitions. "Seeing them grow and become more confident is the greatest reward for me" - Long shared in the program.
Looking back on his journey, Tran Viet Long has not only overcome his physical disability, but also overcome prejudices - both from others and himself. From a boy with a stiff hand, he has become a lecturer, career counselor and positive life inspiration, representing the new generation of disabled Vietnamese youth - living kindly, living usefully and constantly contributing. The gift of "Love Station" has contributed to giving Viet Long more strength on that humane journey.
