On the morning of February 16th (29th day of the Lunar New Year), reporters observed that the city's largest high-altitude fireworks display site was fully prepared and ready for the transition into the New Year of the Horse 2026 at the Saigon River Tunnel Park (An Khanh Ward).

Over the past two days, the authorities have implemented a rigorous process, from arranging the cannon barrels and wiring to connecting the ammunition to the launcher. This year, due to the large workload, officers and soldiers from the Ho Chi Minh City Command have directly handled the technical connection process to ensure timely completion.

Putting aside personal feelings for the common good, amidst the sun-drenched and windy battlefield, Comrade Nguyen Van Dung, who has served here for many years, quietly checks every small detail with his comrades. He shared that while everyone else is busy preparing the New Year's Eve meal with their families, they are highly focused on the battlefield to deliver the most perfect performance for the people.
“Having been on duty during Tet for many years, the emotions are hard to describe. The job demands absolute meticulousness under time pressure. However, seeing the crowds eagerly waiting, we tell ourselves we must do our best. Just seeing the fireworks shining brightly and hearing the cheers of the people makes all the hardships disappear,” Dũng confided.
On New Year's Eve this year, Ho Chi Minh City will hold fireworks displays at 17 locations (4 high-altitude and 13 low-altitude). A total of approximately 70 low-altitude fireworks displays and 1,200 high-altitude fireworks will simultaneously fire at 0:00 on February 17, 2026.

This year's technical highlight is the fully automated firing system, which makes the performance more professional and precise. In particular, the new technology will minimize smoke, overcoming the limitations on audience visibility that occurred in previous years.
