After examination, treatment and medication at Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, the ulcers and infections stabilized, the wound was dry, and the patient returned to normal activities.
Mr. L. said that from November 3 to November 24, the patient did not leave Trang Bom commune, did not have contact with foreigners, and lived with his sister's family in Trang Bom commune. The patient did not have a sexual partner or homosexual relations before the onset of the disease, so the source of the infection is still unknown.
Regarding this case, Trang Bom Regional Medical Center and Trang Bom Commune Health Station have conducted an epidemiological investigation, instructed the patient and those in contact to monitor their health, wear masks, and regularly clean and sanitize their homes.
Up to now, relatives and households around patient L. have not yet detected symptoms of monkeypox. According to doctors, monkeypox has 3 main routes of infection that need to be noted: infection through scratches and bites from animals infected with the virus; people eating infected animals; people in close contact with people infected with monkeypox.
