Specifically, patient HVL, residing in Trang Bom commune, works as a freelance trader at the market. On November 24th, Mr. L. developed ulcers on his neck, buttocks, and abdomen, and experienced fever for two days. On November 28th, the patient sought treatment at the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital. A sample was taken and sent to the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City for testing, and the result was positive for monkeypox virus.

After examination, treatment, and medication at the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, the ulcers and infections stabilized, the wounds dried, and the patient resumed normal activities.
Mr. L. stated that from November 3rd to November 24th, the patient did not leave Trang Bom commune, did not have contact with foreigners, and lived with his sister's family in Trang Bom commune. The patient did not have a sexual partner and did not engage in same-sex relationships before falling ill, therefore the source of infection remains unclear.
Regarding this case, the Trang Bom Regional Health Center and the Trang Bom Commune Health Station have conducted epidemiological investigations, instructed the patient and those in contact with them to monitor their health, wear masks, and regularly clean and disinfect their homes.
To date, family members and neighbors of patient L. have not detected any symptoms of monkeypox. According to doctors, there are three main routes of transmission for monkeypox: infection through scratches or bites from infected animals; consumption of meat from infected animals; and close contact with someone infected with monkeypox.
