Solemn traditional ceremony at Kim Ngan Temple, erecting the ceremonial pole to inaugurate the festival season in the Old Quarter.
Following the opening ceremony of O Quan Chuong Gate and the parade on the morning of February 8th, the ceremonial groups continued to Kim Ngan Temple (Hang Bac Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) to perform traditional rituals and erect the ceremonial pole.

The event took place within the framework of the Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet program, contributing to recreating the festive atmosphere of the imperial capital and honoring the values of folk culture at the beginning of spring.
The Kim Ngan Temple area on the morning of February 8th, the destination for ceremonial groups after the opening ceremony of O Quan Chuong Gate. Groups dressed in traditional costumes entered the temple one after another, preparing to perform the spring festival rituals. Their faces became serene as they stepped into the ancient temple, reflecting the reverence of those participating in the spring festival rituals. After completing the incense offering, participants rejoined the crowds in the festival atmosphere. The solemn incense offering and announcement ceremony took place in the ancient temple space in the heart of Hang Bac Street. Incense smoke permeates the ancient temple grounds, creating a moment of tranquility in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. The meticulously crafted calligraphic strokes on the red couplets convey wishes for a peaceful new year within the temple's atmosphere. The couplet is complete, with neat calligraphy, ready to be hung. New Year's wishes are hung on the New Year's pole, carrying the hopes for peace and good fortune of the people in the old town. The ceremonial pole is slowly erected in the coordinated movements of those participating in the ritual. The ritual of painting lime to ward off evil spirits is performed after the ceremonial pole is erected, concluding the series of traditional ceremonies at Kim Ngan Temple.
