In response to practical requirements as well as the implementation of Circular No. 39/2021/TT-BGDDT dated December 30, 2021 of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on promulgating the list of minimum teaching equipment for teaching and learning, every year Pham Van Hinh Secondary School, Tay Do commune reviews and proactively advises the Party Committee, authorities, and education sector to invest and promptly purchase equipment for teaching and learning of both teachers and students. Along with investing in new classrooms, the school has just added 12 more computers to the IT room, bringing the total number of computers in this classroom to 24; the Foreign Language room is also equipped with 1 large-screen smart TV, 1 computer and a speaker system...
Teacher Trinh Dinh Thao, Principal of Pham Van Hinh Secondary School, said: “In recent years, especially since the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program, the school has invested in many necessary educational items and equipment for the requirements of innovation as well as ensuring the criteria of the school meeting national standards. Currently, 100% of the school's classrooms are covered by the internet and equipped with smart TVs to meet the requirements of applying information technology in the innovation process.”
At many other schools in the province such as Quang Cat Primary School, Quang Phu Ward; Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, Hac Thanh Ward; Linh Son 2 Kindergarten, Linh Son Commune... the investment in purchasing educational equipment has also received attention from the Party Committee, government and support from all walks of life.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Principal of Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, said: “With the attention of local authorities, the education sector, and the consensus of parents in investing in purchasing educational equipment, up to now, all 31 classrooms of the school have been equipped with modern equipment such as large-screen smart TVs, sound systems, internet access... and are operated according to the smart classroom mechanism. In addition, the school also has 2 computer rooms with 35 computers/room, serving well the requirements of digital transformation as well as teaching and learning IT for students from grades 3 to 5.”
According to statistics, in the past 5 years, the Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to develop many projects and policies to develop school and classroom facilities, bringing practical results such as: Policy on socialization of preschool education; Program on investment in facilities and teaching equipment for the period 2021-2025 for high schools, junior high schools and high schools to meet national standards by 2025... In addition, implementing the 2018 General Education Program, the Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to deploy the purchase of equipment for teaching and learning for schools with a budget of hundreds of billions of VND... From different funding sources, each year there are hundreds of projects and items serving teaching and learning activities invested in construction. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province built about 303 new classrooms, 362 rooms for administration and management, 257 subject classrooms and many accompanying educational equipment...
In addition to resources from the State budget, over the years, the education sector and local authorities have continuously encouraged and mobilized resources from organizations, individuals, and businesses inside and outside the province to invest in educational equipment for schools. For example, recently, the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group has supported investment in Ham Rong High School and Lam Son High School for the Gifted, each school has 1 STEM practice room. This practice room is equipped with 6 synchronized functional blocks including: facilities, processing machines - specialized equipment; tools and learning equipment by topic; smart connected learning materials; hard copy - soft copy learning materials system and book system serving organization and management work.
Teacher Nguyen Thanh Son, Principal of Lam Son High School for the Gifted, shared: “The STEM practice room is designed in a modern, synchronous and flexible direction, an open space for students to research, experiment, create and develop interdisciplinary scientific projects. This project is not only a step forward in terms of facilities and educational equipment, but also opens up a new learning model, helping students connect knowledge and practice, research and creativity, contributing to concretizing the goal of building a modern, humane and future-connected educational environment. When the STEM classroom is put into use, lessons will be linked to practice, ideas will be nurtured, and scientific dreams will take flight - so that each Lam Son student always knows how to think differently, do differently and be creative for their own future, for the development of their homeland and country”.
The 2018 general education program aims to reduce theory and increase practice to make lessons less fragmented and boring, which means that equipment and learning materials become more important. From the goals, meanings and results achieved, along with the viewpoint that investment and construction must be consistent with the curriculum, the provincial education sector determines to continue to advise and mobilize resources to invest in infrastructure, educational equipment, especially equipment in the direction of applying information technology to meet the requirements of teaching and learning in the new period, contributing to realizing the goal of educational innovation in the "digital age".
