

The Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival has existed for hundreds of years, formed along with the history of the temple, built in the post-Le period (17th century). Previously, the Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival was held on the 15th day of the 3rd lunar month every year.
Since 1995, after the temple was restored, the temple festival was moved to the 9th and 10th of the 10th lunar month every year, the death anniversary of Quan Hoang Muoi, the occasion of the New Rice Festival/Truong Thap Festival/Ha Nguyen Festival, the holiday of those who practice the Hau Dong ritual; a day that people believe is a full, complete day, bringing many good things.

Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (in Decision No. 2970/QD-BVHTTDL dated August 27, 2019).

The Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival is held to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation; at the same time to commemorate and pay tribute to the merits of Quan Hoang Muoi. According to legend, he is the reincarnation of famous historical figures closely associated with Nghe An land: Ly Nhat Quang, Le Khoi, Nguyen Xi, Nguyen Duy Lac..., meritorious mandarins who are both civil and military, and have made many contributions to the country and the people.

Through the festival activities, we also foster love for our homeland and country; educate the tradition of remembering the source of drinking water for all classes of people; at the same time create a healthy cultural and spiritual living environment and a vibrant space for cultural activities, cultural exchanges, physical training and sports, contributing to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people.

The Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival in 2025 will be held on November 28 and 29 (October 9 and 10, At Ty year) with many unique traditional cultural activities.
During the day and evening of November 28, many solemn ceremonial activities were held, such as the opening ceremony, the royal edict procession, the god procession, the proclamation ceremony and exciting and attractive sports activities, such as men's volleyball, women's volleyball, traditional tug of war; organizing art programs and releasing flower lanterns on the Moc River, participating in the performance space to practice the worship of the Mother Goddess of the Three Palaces, Gia Hoang Muoi...

The official festival on the morning of November 29th had many solemn rituals, such as incense offering and offering ceremony; royal decree announcement ceremony; and god worship ceremony. After the ceremony, delegates and visitors experienced the final matches of men's and women's volleyball, traditional tug of war and the general award ceremony of sports competitions.
