On behalf of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, comrade Tran Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of Hoa Thanh Ward People's Committee, sent congratulations and deep gratitude to the elderly men and women who have devoted their whole lives to their homeland.
120 typical elderly people were celebrated their longevity in a solemn, warm and affectionate atmosphere.
He emphasized: “The longevity celebration is not only a recognition of merit, but also an opportunity for today’s generation to demonstrate the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, “Respect the elderly and cherish longevity”, and to show gratitude to those who have worked hard to build and develop the homeland. The elderly are historical witnesses, bridges between generations, shining examples of personality, perseverance and compassion, not only the pride of each family but also a valuable spiritual asset of the community”.
At the ceremony, the elderly received longevity gifts from the Association of the Elderly. Although the gifts were not large in material value, they contained sentiments and beautiful traditions of the Vietnamese people, expressing the care, recognition, gratitude and deep respect that the community has for the elderly, who have devoted their lives to contributing to and building their homeland.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Association of the Elderly of Ca Mau province, presented longevity gifts to the elderly in Hoa Thanh ward.
Mr. Lam Van Dang (75 years old, living in Ba Dinh hamlet) emotionally shared: “I am very happy and touched when the locality organized a thoughtful, solemn and meaningful longevity celebration. This is the practical concern of the authorities at all levels, showing affection and respect for us, the elderly. The longevity greeting cards and meaningful gifts today are not only wishes for good health, but also a great source of encouragement for us to continue to live happily, healthily, and usefully, always being an example for our children and grandchildren to follow.”
According to the Provincial Population Department, the majority of elderly people in Ca Mau live in rural areas, with their children and grandchildren; their material life is still difficult. Recently, Ca Mau province has proactively implemented the Elderly Health Care Project for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. The project aims to improve access to and enjoyment of comprehensive health care services for the elderly, build a friendly and safe living environment, so that each elderly person is cared for, cared for and lives happily - lives healthily - lives usefully in the love of family and community.
