40 awards given for journalistic works on energy saving

The series of articles "Net zero and issues in energy saving and efficiency" by a group of reporters from Nhan Dan Newspaper won a Special Prize at the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Journalism Awards.

On the afternoon of November 14, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the award ceremony of the 2025 Press and Propaganda Award on Energy Saving and Efficient Use.

The award is within the framework of the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy for the 2019-2030 period approved by the Prime Minister .

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that Vietnam is entering a phase of accelerating the implementation of its commitment to net zero emissions by 2050. In particular, saving and using energy efficiently is considered a key solution.

In that process, the press plays a particularly important role, as a bridge between policy and life, a source of inspiration and communication motivation, helping the community understand, agree and act with the Government for a greener, more sustainable future.

In 2025, the Award received strong attention and response from press agencies across the country, reflecting diverse and vivid topics on energy saving and efficiency in production, business, construction, transportation and daily life. The entries demonstrated the meticulous investment, creativity and dedication of journalists, contributing to spreading the message of energy saving in vivid, familiar and easy-to-understand language.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long hopes that in the coming time, the team of journalists will continue to promote their strengths, innovate content and forms of expression, so that the propaganda work on using energy economically and efficiently will become more profound, attractive and widespread in society.

Evaluating this year's competition, Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that the works that made it to the preliminary and final rounds all reflected truthfully, creatively and deeply the achievements in the work of using energy economically and efficiently.

Many articles have vividly depicted typical models, good practices, and practical initiatives, from the community scale to businesses, industrial parks, green buildings, green cities, etc. At the same time, many works also raised difficulties, challenges, and solutions for using energy economically and effectively in the coming time.

According to the Jury, the quality of this year's works is more even, diverse and in-depth, with many rich topics. In particular, the outstanding participation of local press agencies and young reporters has brought a new breeze to the award, with works presented in a modern, attractive form and with high propaganda value.

This year, the award attracted 477 entries from many types of journalism: print, electronic, radio, television, video clips...

After an objective, serious and impartial working process, the Preliminary Council selected 74 works for the final round. The Final Council selected 40 best works to award prizes, including: 1 Special Prize, 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 10 C prizes, 15 Encouragement prizes./.
