The award is part of the National Program on Energy Saving and Efficiency for the period 2019-2030, approved by the Prime Minister .
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that Vietnam is entering a phase of accelerating the implementation of its commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050. In this process, energy saving and efficient energy use are considered key solutions.

In this process, the press plays a particularly important role, acting as a bridge between policy and life, a source of inspiration and motivation for communication, helping the community understand, agree with, and act together with the Government for a greener, more sustainable future.
In 2025, the Award received strong interest and support from media outlets nationwide, reflecting diverse and vibrant themes on energy conservation and efficiency in production, business, construction, transportation, and daily life. The submitted works demonstrated the meticulous effort, creativity, and dedication of journalists, contributing to the dissemination of the energy conservation message through vivid, accessible, and easy-to-understand language.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his hope that in the coming time, the team of journalists will continue to develop their strengths, innovate in content and form of expression, so that the propaganda work on energy saving and efficient use will become more profound, attractive and widespread in society.
Commenting on this year's competition, Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that the works that reached the preliminary and final rounds all truthfully, creatively, and profoundly reflected the achievements in the work of using energy efficiently and effectively.
