On the evening of November 14, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the 8th National Press Awards Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnam's Education" in 2025. The Education and Times Newspaper is the permanent unit and organizer.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son warmly congratulated the authors who had won the award. At the same time, he affirmed that the press award is an annual activity with profound significance, affirming the essential accompanying role of the press in policy communication activities, spreading the good values of the education sector in the period of innovation, facing great opportunities and expectations of the country.

The event is an opportunity to honor and recognize the contributions of quality journalistic works that objectively and diversely reflect the fields of education and training, and is also an important highlight in the series of events celebrating Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.

In 2025, there were more than 800 entries, of which 82 excellent entries were selected for the Final Round, including four core journalism types (print, electronic, radio, television). From these entries, the Final Round Council proposed 4 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 12 Third Prizes, 36 Encouragement Prizes and 2 outstanding characters in the 2 winning entries.

The abundance in quantity, diversity in types, and high professional quality of the works have demonstrated the deep interest and growing response of journalists across the country to education.

Comrade Nguyen Kim Son said that the journalistic works submitted to the contest have outlined a comprehensive, vivid and colorful picture of Vietnamese Education, with in-depth analysis of both macro policies and guidelines (such as Resolution No. 71, Resolution No. 57), and urgent current issues such as: Textbooks, extra teaching, and school safety.

Many works have touched on profound humanistic topics such as mental health and learning opportunities for students in disadvantaged areas. Each article and reportage does not only reflect but also shares and contributes to building trust and social companionship. Thereby, the press affirms its role as a companion, a thoughtful critic and a "midwife" for the industry's innovations, helping education policies to be more closely linked to reality, while ensuring that the voices of teachers and students are fully heard and understood.
At the Award Ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training continued to launch the 9th National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" in 2026.
