The event is part of the National Program on Energy Saving and Efficiency for the 2019-2030 period approved by the Prime Minister , to honor the outstanding contributions of journalists in communication work on energy saving and efficiency.
At the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that 2025 marks an important step forward for Vietnam's energy sector when Law No. 77/2025/QH15 was passed by the National Assembly, adding regulations to promote the application of digital technology, renewable energy, circular economic models and green transformation, contributing to the realization of sustainable development goals.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long, in the context of Vietnam moving towards a commitment to net zero emissions by 2050, saving and using energy efficiently becomes a key, low-cost but highly effective solution in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving competitiveness and ensuring national energy security. In this process, the press plays an important role, acting as a bridge between policy and life, while inspiring the community to act together for a greener future.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his belief that the press team will continue to promote its strengths, innovate content and forms of expression so that the propaganda on using energy economically and efficiently will become more profound and spread widely in society.

The Press Award on Energy Saving and Efficiency has been held continuously since 2007 and this year is the 14th season. In 2025, the Organizing Committee received 477 entries, diverse in press types including print, electronic, radio, television and video clips. The works vividly reflect the topics of energy saving in production, business, transportation, construction and daily life, at the same time demonstrating the creativity, diligence and dedication of journalists.
Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, affirmed that the award is a practical event, honoring the contributions of the press in promoting energy saving - a task that is both urgent and has long-term significance for socio-economic development and environmental protection. The works that made it to the final round not only truly and creatively reflect typical models, good practices, and practical initiatives from the community to businesses, industrial parks, green buildings, and green cities, but also highlight the challenges and solutions for the effective use of energy saving in the coming time.

The Jury assessed that the quality of this year's works was consistent, in-depth and diverse. The prominent participation of local press and young reporters brought a breath of fresh air with a modern, attractive form and high propaganda value.

After an objective judging process, the Final Jury selected 40 outstanding works to award prizes, including 1 special prize, 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 10 C prizes, and 15 Encouragement prizes. The total prize value is 325 million VND.
Special Prize (1 work) was awarded to the work: Series of 2 articles "Net Zero and issues arising in the economical and efficient use of energy" by the group of authors: Bui Nam Dong (Nam Dong), Le Thi Thu Hang (Thu Hang), Bui Thi Kim Thoa (Kim Thoa), Le Thi Thanh Nga (Thanh Nga) - People's Electronic Department, People's Newspaper.

1. Work: Series of 3 articles "Using energy economically and efficiently: Reality from FDI enterprises and experience for Vietnamese enterprises". Author: Nguyen Thi Hong Tuoi (Nhat Thu) - Vietnam Law Newspaper.
2. Work: Series of 3 articles “Industrial development associated with economical and efficient use of energy”. Author group: Trinh Thi Lan, Le The Phuong – Bac Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television.
3. Work: 3-part series “Using energy economically and efficiently in Lao Cai province and other localities”. Author group: Le Thi Hong Ly, Nguyen Thu Hien – Lao Cai Newspaper and Radio and Television.
4. Work: “Creative technology – green computing infrastructure”. Author group: Ha Trang, Mai Quyen, Hoang Lam, Viet Thai, Van Thong, Van Dai, Ngoc Hung – Special Topics Department – Science and Education, Vietnam Television.
