Awarding ceremony of the Online Contest to learn about the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law in 2024

Deployed from August 19 to October 1, 2025, the contest aims to propagate, disseminate, and raise legal awareness, contributing to building a culture of living and working according to the Constitution and the law among union members and workers. After nearly 2 months of launching, the contest has attracted more than 353,000 union members and workers to participate at 51/51 Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations, Central Industry Trade Unions, Economic Group Trade Unions, and Corporations under the General Confederation.

Many units have creative ways of working, actively propagating and mobilizing union members to participate, such as: Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Lai Chau, Cao Bang, Dong Thap, Nghe An, Banking Trade Union, Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, Vietnam Healthcare Trade Union... This is a remarkable result, especially in the context that units are focusing on the work of reorganizing the apparatus and implementing two-level local government.

In terms of quality, the contest has attracted special attention from union members and workers with tens of thousands of perfect score entries, demonstrating a deep and comprehensive understanding of legal regulations. In particular, hundreds of thousands of submitted essays vividly expressed the feelings, awareness and wishes of workers about the role of the Trade Union organization and the significance of social insurance policies in life. Many articles touched with simple but profound messages such as: "Trade unions must be strong where workers are weak", "Social insurance needs to be flexible so that no one is left behind", or "Social insurance speaks in everyday language".

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized: “The closing ceremony and award ceremony took place on Vietnam Law Day, which is even more meaningful. For the Trade Union organization, mastering the law is a prerequisite to representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. Workers who understand the law know how to protect their own rights.”

At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 34 individual prizes and 24 collective prizes. Of which, the first individual prize went to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hung (Trade Union of Tay Ho Chi Minh Radio - MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation); two first collective prizes were awarded to Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation (the unit with the largest number of participants) and Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation (the unit with the highest rate of union members).

The contest has created a positive ripple effect, contributing to bringing the law on Trade Unions and Social Insurance closer to workers, arousing the spirit of learning and proactively learning the law among workers nationwide.

The Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law are two important laws, passed by the 15th National Assembly with many new and progressive points. In particular, the Trade Union Law 2024 (amended and supplemented in 2025) creates a solid legal corridor for the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new period, clearly affirming the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. The Social Insurance Law 2024 continues to improve social security policies, aiming to ensure a safe and stable life for millions of workers.

The widespread dissemination and popularization of these two laws demonstrates the pioneering role of the Trade Union in raising legal awareness for union members and workers to understand the law to properly implement and protect their own rights.
