This is the third time that Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper has organized the Writing Contest on "Environmental Protection in Hanoi". The contest has been expanded by the City People's Committee into a Communication Program, attracting the attention of many management agencies, businesses and people. That is clearly demonstrated when the Writing Contest on "Environmental Protection in Hanoi for the 3rd time - 2023" achieved remarkable results in terms of quantity and quality of entries.
The summary shows that the number of entries this year is 2,360, nearly 5 times more than in 2022 and nearly 8 times more than in 2021. Of the total 2,360 entries participating in the Contest, there are 1,950 entries from organizations, units and individuals, with 24 series of entries and 2,336 single entries. The posting period is from July 1, 2022 to September 25, 2023.
The entries focus on four main topics. First, reflect and propose solutions for waste classification and treatment according to the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. Second, reflect good practices, environmental improvement initiatives and good actions of organizations and individuals in Hanoi in environmental protection. Third, the current situation and solutions for rivers, lakes, craft villages, and the drainage system of the capital. Fourth, the topic of building and developing green urban areas.
Head of the Organizing Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Economic and Urban Newspaper Nguyen Thanh Loi said that the Writing Contest not only received the attention, support and participation of readers in the capital in particular and the whole country in general, but also gradually fostered and built a culture of environmental protection, forming habits and raising the sense of responsibility of the whole society for a sustainable future.
