Awarding the Brave Youth Badge to Captain Luc Van Nguyen

On the morning of September 27, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee organized the awarding of the Brave Youth Badge of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to Captain Luc Van Nguyen, a member of the Youth Union of the Yen Thuan Commune Police (Ham Yen) for his brave act of saving people in the midst of floodwaters.

Previously, at around 2:30 p.m. on September 8, Yen Thuan Commune Police received a report that Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuc, born in 1995, and his two children, Nguyen Quoc Bao and Nguyen Thi Bao Trang, residing in Cau Cao 2 village, Bach Xa commune (Ham Yen), were traveling by motorbike across the Cau Treo village spillway, Yen Thuan commune, and were swept away by floodwaters.

Authorized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union leaders awarded the Brave Youth Badge to Captain Luc Van Nguyen.

Immediately after receiving the information, Captain Luc Van Nguyen and the comrades of the Commune Police and the Military Command of Yen Thuan Commune immediately arrived at the scene to deploy a plan to search for the victim. Without a moment of hesitation, Comrade Nguyen and a local resident, Mr. Lieu Van Quyet, Cau Treo Village, Yen Thuan Commune, jumped into the water, using on-site items and life jackets to try to overcome the raging flood to reach Bao. After a period of struggling and with the support of teammates and people, they were able to bring Bao safely to shore.

For that brave action, the Central Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to award the Brave Youth Badge to Captain Luc Van Nguyen. This is a noble title given to Vietnamese youth union members and youth who have brave actions and outstanding achievements in protecting security, national defense, social order and safety; preventing negative phenomena and social evils; bravely protecting and rescuing people and property of the people and the state in urgent situations.

The brave action of Captain Luc Van Nguyen has spread widely among the youth of the province, contributing to demonstrating the spirit of volunteering for community life, further enhancing the beautiful image of the police officer in the hearts of the people.
