Over 30 patients received humanitarian surgery for trauma, orthopedics, and motor system disabilities at Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center.

From December 5 to 7, at the Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center, the Sala Humanitarian Club in collaboration with doctors and nurses of the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital and many accompanying units carried out a series of activities of medical examination, treatment and surgery; awarded scholarships, gifts and supported teaching equipment for poor students in the communes of the old Chiem Hoa district.

Participating in the program were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Chairman of the Vietnam Orthopedic Trauma Association, Head of the Sala Humanitarian Club; leaders of the Department of Health and club members.

The beneficiaries of the program are poor patients, children with trauma, orthopedic and motor system disabilities. After 3 days of implementation, over 100 patients were screened and 30 patients with orthopedic diseases of the motor system were given free surgery. After surgery, the patients received rehabilitation treatment and health care consultation.

Sala Humanitarian Club donated 3 sets of computers worth 30 million VND to Ngoan A village school, Xuan Quang Primary School, Chiem Hoa commune.

Within the framework of the program, the club gave gifts to ethnic minority primary school students at Ngoan A Village School, Xuan Quang Primary School, Chiem Hoa Commune. The gifts included: 3 sets of computers worth 30 million VND, 60 gifts for students in difficult circumstances, 20 Ngo Van Toan scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) and toys for the playground of the Pediatrics Department of Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center with a total value of 20 million VND .

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Head of Sala Humanitarian Club said: “Sala Humanitarian Club was established in 2010 with the core of doctors and nurses from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. We regularly coordinate to organize humanitarian medical examination and treatment programs in localities. With the motto "The origin of love", the club wishes to promptly share and provide practical assistance to children and people in difficult circumstances so that they can have a better and better life. In addition, this is an activity to support expertise and transfer new techniques to colleagues in localities and at lower levels."
