DNO - On July 16, the Department of Transport, the Traffic Safety Committee, in coordination with the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS Project) , funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation and Vital Stategies, held a meeting to discuss the project implementation results in 2023 and develop a plan for 2024-2025 in the city.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Nguyen Trung Nghia said that Da Nang city has been implementing the City Program of "5 no", "3 yes", "4 safe"; including the Traffic Safety Program; this is one of the important steps in the implementation of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety Project organized and implemented in the city at the same time.
To effectively implement the project, in 2023, the city has developed an implementation plan consisting of 4 main components. Including the component on improving traffic organization, renovating traffic infrastructure to ensure science , suitable to the actual situation; improving the management of traffic infrastructure to ensure safety and convenience for people and vehicles participating in traffic in the city.

The meeting to discuss the implementation plan of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety project held in the city allowed experts to exchange experiences in traffic organization, traffic infrastructure improvement, communication work and data collection to ensure scientific assurance, in accordance with the actual situation, in order to propose solutions and measures for implementation in the coming time.
Director of the BIGRS Project, Ms. Kelly Larson, emphasized that in recent times, Da Nang city has effectively implemented the road traffic safety program, and the active participation and support from departments, branches, and localities have contributed to the overall success of the project. Hopefully, in 2024 and the following years, the program will continue to promote the achieved results.
