According to Can Tho City Electricity Company, in October 2025, the total commercial electricity output of the whole city was over 531.3 million kWh, an increase of 2.79% over the same period in 2024. It is forecasted that the amount of electricity consumed in the production, business and consumption sectors will continue to increase at the end of the year. In this situation, Can Tho City Electricity Company has directed electricity management teams in 103 communes and wards to perform well the repair, maintenance and upgrade of the power grid operation system; at the same time, increase the application of technology in the management and operation of the power system; use automatic monitoring and control systems to promptly detect incidents in the operation of transformer stations and power grid lines managed by the unit.

Along with that, local power management teams also prepare sufficient human resources, equipment, and spare materials such as transformers, wires, etc. to be ready to respond to unusual situations. Areas with high loads such as industrial parks, clusters, and large manufacturing enterprises are regularly monitored by the electricity industry to have priority power supply plans, ensuring that production activities are not interrupted in the final stages of the year.

To meet the increasing demand for electricity consumption in the last months of 2025, in addition to implementing technical solutions, Can Tho City Electricity Company also promotes the propaganda of safe, economical and efficient use of electricity for many customer groups. According to Mr. Huynh Huu Ky, Deputy Director of Can Tho City Electricity Company, the company has coordinated with the city's Department of Industry and Trade and functional agencies in localities to mobilize business units such as restaurants, hotels, commercial service establishments, offices and apartment buildings to save electricity by reducing the lighting capacity of signs and decorative lights after 10 p.m., and adjusting the time of using electrical equipment appropriately. Mobilize public lighting management units to apply synchronous power saving solutions, but still ensure reasonable capacity and lighting time at night... For households, the electricity industry recommends that customers use electrical equipment with energy labels, pay attention to setting air conditioners at 26 degrees Celsius or higher, turn off electrical equipment when not necessary and avoid using many high-capacity devices at the same time to limit overload as well as consuming a lot of electricity in daily life...

For businesses and production facilities, the electricity industry encourages customers to arrange reasonable production plans, comply with registered load charts, reduce at least 50% of lighting capacity in corridors and areas with little activity during off-peak hours and encourage businesses to shift part of their production activities to off-peak hours... Encourage businesses consuming over 1 million kWh/year to increase electricity savings, participate in the load adjustment program (DR) and shift electricity loads, to help businesses save on electricity consumption costs as well as help the electricity industry reduce pressure on the power system overload during peak hours.

To meet the requirements of safe, reliable and continuous power supply during the peak production and business season at the end of 2025, Can Tho City Electricity Company focuses on implementing solutions to improve service quality, quickly handle incidents and promptly restore power supply to customers, especially in industrial parks and clusters and places with many establishments and enterprises producing goods, serving domestic consumption and export needs; at the same time, promoting propaganda and mobilizing customers to join hands in using electricity economically and effectively, contributing to ensuring the demand for electricity supply at the end of the year.
