On January 14th, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a speech at the Conference on the Implementation of Criminal Investigation Work in 2026.

Speaking at the conference, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that the Criminal Investigation Police force focus intensely on combating and suppressing all types of crime, dismantling criminal gangs and groups, especially those operating under the guise of businesses, ensuring that 100% of these gangs are identified, detected, managed, and dismantled; focus intensely on preventing and combating street crime; reduce drug demand, and achieve the goals of drug-free communes and provinces; and continue to improve the effectiveness of combating environmental crimes, food safety and hygiene violations, and the misuse of cyberspace for fraud.

In the immediate future, focus on effectively implementing the intensified campaign to combat and suppress crime, ensuring security and order for the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, major national events, and early year festivals.
