Pilot implementation of granting and managing codes for raw material forest growing areas in Phuc Loi and Khanh Hoa

On November 10, the Yen Binh - Luc Yen Regional Forest Protection Department coordinated with the People's Committees of two communes of Phuc Loi, Khanh Hoa to organize a pilot implementation of granting and managing codes for raw material forest growing areas for households.

The activity of issuing codes for raw material forest growing areas aims to complete the database and digitize raw material forest growing areas, contributing to transparency in wood origin, meeting the requirements of the European Union on explaining legal wood, not causing deforestation and forest degradation.

At the conference, forest households of the two communes were informed about 6 important topics: planting area codes in the organization of legal timber supply chains and traceability on the digital platform of the iTwood system; instructions on registering subjects and rights to use forest plots on the iTwood system; building a system database for forest owners who are households, organizing and building planting area code maps; instructions on the process of verifying land use rights, forest plots, granting and managing planting area codes, practicing using the system; organizing the supply chain, tracing origin to create exploitation information forms; using mobile apps to register for planting area codes, operating the G&SPG supply chain, practicing using mobile apps.

Through the implementation, it aims to promote the application of information technology in checking, reviewing, and comparing information on land use rights, forest lot status, and forest owners in the process of issuing codes. The Yen Binh - Luc Yen Regional Forest Protection Department strives to complete the pilot issuance and management of codes for raw material forest growing areas with an area of ​​about 1,000 hectares in the two communes of Khanh Hoa and Luc Yen in 2025.
