Yesterday, November 16, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Italian food and beverage exhibition with the theme "Taste of Italy" was held at MM Mega Market Thang Long, attracting a lot of attention from food lovers in Hanoi.

Opening of the Italian Food and Beverage Exhibition with the theme “Taste of Italy”

The event marked the cooperation between the Italian Embassy, the Italian Trade Office and MM Mega Market in bringing to the Vietnamese public premium culinary products and ingredients imported from Italy.

Mr. Marco della Seta, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, spoke at the event.

The Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Marco della Seta, shared in his opening speech: “We have decided to organize this special event week every year to promote Italian culture and cuisine to the public in Vietnam. We believe that cuisine can tell the story of a culture’s heritage.”

The event also featured the presence of chef Cam Thien Long, as he directly performed the process of preparing Italian dishes to the excitement of the audience. Many typical Italian dishes such as Panna Cotta, Spaghetti, or Parma Ham were also prepared so that participants could enjoy the “Taste of Italy” in the most intuitive way.

Most Italian dishes are Mediterranean in character, so the preparation is quite simple, focusing on natural ingredients such as tomatoes, olives, green vegetables and grains. This makes Italian cuisine one of the healthiest cuisines in the world . Each Italian dish is prepared minimally and usually contains no more than 10 ingredients, common ingredients include tomatoes, olive oil, herbs, or wine. However, to create authentic Italian dishes, the most important thing is that the ingredients must be of authentic Italian origin.

Mr. Fabio De Cillis – Head of the Italian Trade Office – Trade Promotion Department of the Italian Consulate shared at the event: “Italian cuisine is a “slow food” cuisine, because we value health in every aspect of a meal. Therefore, we want to spread health to the public within the framework of the 8th Italian Food Week in Vietnam. Through the cooperation between the Italian Trade Office and distribution partners such as MM Mega Market, Vietnamese people will easily access quality products imported from Italy.”

In order to spread healthy Italian dishes to Vietnamese consumers, a series of imported products from Italy have been introduced and displayed at the MM Mega Market system, making them easily accessible to consumers.
