On May 21, Tan Bach Thanh confirmed that his wife, actress Chu Vien Vien, had passed away after many years of battling cancer. On Weibo, many famous artists expressed their grief over her passing.
Actress Trieu Le Dinh choked up: "Sister Vien Vien, I will always remember you with deep respect". Meanwhile, Huynh Hieu Minh emotionally shared: "She was always optimistic, never revealing her illness to anyone. Even though she was seriously ill, she still worked tirelessly, always keeping a smile on her lips".
Phung Vien Chinh - a close friend of the couple for many years, said: "Bach Thanh, please stay strong". Actress Ma Y Li expressed her condolences. Previously, she had repeatedly praised Chu Vien Vien's acting talent to the media.
Yao Chen choked up: “I can’t believe this, everything is so sudden”. Director Leung Guan Hua also couldn’t hide his shock. On her personal page, actress Qin Hai Lu posted a series of commemorative photos with Zhou Yuan Yuan when they were both acting in stage plays. She wrote: “We were not only colleagues but also close friends. Her passing is a huge loss”.
According to Tan Bach Thanh, his wife has been quietly fighting the disease since 2020. After nearly 5 years of living with cancer, Chu Vien Vien still maintains her artistic activities. She participated in many outstanding works such as: Giving you a small red flower, My sister, Legend of the ocean, City builder.
Zhou Yuanyuan was born in 1974 in Qingdao and graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in 1997. With more than two decades of artistic activities, she has left her mark with roles rich in depth and emotion.
