Trieu Phong builds synchronous traffic infrastructure to serve economic development

More than 10 years ago, rural traffic in Trieu Phong district was mostly dirt roads, muddy in the rainy season, dusty in the dry season, causing many difficulties for vehicles and people to travel. After many years of operation, some traffic works have degraded, not meeting the needs of local socio -economic development. Many roads to the commune center are not complete, most of the commune roads, village roads, inter-village roads, and alleys are still small and narrow. According to a survey by the transport sector, at that time, only 47% of rural roads in Trieu Phong district were asphalted or concreted. Up to now, after 12 years of implementing the national target program on new rural construction, the district's traffic infrastructure has changed significantly.

In Trieu Phong today, the district road system has been expanded and asphalted or concreted to meet TCVN 4054:2005 standards with a total length of 146.3 km on 21 routes, ensuring convenient car travel all year round. For inter-commune roads, village and inter-village roads, and alley roads, they are hardened and upgraded, expanded to ensure the scale according to Decision No. 932 dated July 18, 2022 of the Ministry of Transport . The main intra-field roads have a minimum roadbed width of 3m, and a minimum road surface width of 2m, ensuring convenient transportation of goods by motor vehicles.

The highlight is that the roads, even village roads and alleys, are cleaned and trees are planted along both sides of the roads, creating a green, clean and beautiful landscape. Implementing the program "Lighting up the countryside roads", most of the inter-village and inter-commune roads, roads with a large population have lighting systems that are very convenient for people to travel at night, contributing to ensuring security and order in residential areas and villages. The roads in the district are regularly maintained and repaired every year.

Infrastructure in industrial clusters, industrial points, and craft villages of the district has also received investment attention. Up to now, Dong Ai Tu Industrial Cluster has invested in 2 infrastructure projects with a total capital of up to tens of billions of VND and combined with other projects to gradually complete the district's traffic infrastructure. Typically, the traffic project connecting Ai Tu town with the district's key economic areas has a total investment of 140 billion VND.

When the transport infrastructure system develops, in addition to facilitating travel, it also helps people change their occupations towards strong development of trade and services. Currently, the routes, especially National Highway 1 through Trieu Phong district, National Highway 49C, roads in Ai Tu town, densely populated areas, commercial activities are very developed and many large corporations and companies have come to invest in gas stations, car dealerships, build factories, enterprises... to solve jobs for local people.

To promote economic development, in addition to exploiting the potential of land and geographical location adjacent to two large urban areas, Dong Ha City and Quang Tri Town, the 20th Trieu Phong District Party Congress, term 2020-2025, determined to promote the development of trade and services along National Highway 1, the route connecting Dong Ha City with the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, National Highway 49C, the area east of Ai Tu town, especially Tran Phu Street and along the banks of Thach Han River, Bo Ban area.

Along with that, continue to mobilize resources to develop socio-economic infrastructure, in which priority is given to developing the transport system, speeding up the completion of transport projects, and effectively implementing state management of construction investment to ensure the quality and efficiency of works. Invest and coordinate in the construction, upgrading and expanding the scale and quality of key and vital traffic routes in the district to meet the requirements of socio-economic development and ensure national defense and security.

Researching and planning to expand a number of traffic routes connecting regions, districts and urban areas in the province. Focusing on investing in the construction and completion of traffic routes in Ai Tu town as well as planning and constructing Nam Cua Viet urban area, Nam Vinh Phuoc urban area, gradually planning in detail and investing in urban infrastructure in Bo Ban area.

In the coming time, Trieu Phong district will continue to take advantage of investment resources from the central and local levels and mobilize contributions from people and businesses to continue to effectively implement the plan to renovate and regularly maintain roads, build new ones, expand district and commune roads, village roads, alleys, and main roads in the fields to serve socio-economic development. Strive for 85% of village roads, alleys, and main roads in the fields to be hardened to standards; supplement the planning of the traffic network to meet the needs of new rural construction.

To minimize traffic accidents, all levels and sectors of Trieu Phong district have stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to raise awareness, strictly comply with traffic safety regulations as well as increase the installation of signs to guide traffic participants to follow the law, not violate traffic safety corridors, maintain and expand bright - green - clean - beautiful roads, and flower roads in the communes.
