As one of the pioneer households to switch to growing durian instead of short-term agricultural crops, Mr. K'Sèn, a K'ho ethnic in Tan Thuong commune, Di Linh district (Lam Dong province) is considered by many to be a durian billionaire on the Di Linh Plateau.

Having had a love affair with durian since 2010, Mr. K'Sèn is one of the few households in village 3, Tan Thuong commune, experimenting with intercropping durian in his family's coffee garden.
While growing and learning care techniques, Mr. K'Sèn now has nearly 500 durian trees that meet VietGAP standards, and has successfully registered and built a growing area code for export to China.
In the 2024 durian crop, Mr. K'Sèn's family estimates that they will harvest 30 tons of grade 1 durian. With grade 1 durian selling for 80,000 VND/kg, Mr. K'Sèn's family will earn billions of dong, a dream number for people in Tan Thuong commune.

According to Mr. K'Duc, an agricultural extension officer in Tan Thuong commune (Di Linh district, Lam Dong province), not only has he enriched his family, Mr. K'Sèn is also always enthusiastic and willing to share his experience in growing durian with people in the village and commune.
The success of Mr. K'Sèn's family has become a driving force for people in the region to boldly plant durian, contributing to promoting changes in crop structure, creating a higher and more stable source of income than before.
