On the afternoon of December 8, the Ho Chi Minh Museum opened the thematic exhibition “Ho Chi Minh’s Footprints in the Homeland of the October Revolution” introducing nearly 300 documents, images and artifacts about President Ho Chi Minh’s journey in Russia, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations and the 108th anniversary of the October Revolution.
The exhibition helps the public look back at President Ho Chi Minh's journey to Russia - where Lenin was the leader and the victory of the October Revolution. Lenin's great thoughts became a source of light and a strong driving force that guided Nguyen Ai Quoc-Ho Chi Minh's path to national salvation. Here, he lived, studied and carried out revolutionary activities, thereby forming a deep attachment to the country and people of Russia.
Part 1 of “The Man in Search of the Shape of the Nation” begins with the year 1920, when Nguyen Ai Quoc-Ho Chi Minh found the path to national liberation through Lenin’s thought. Three times coming to Russia (1923-1924, 1927, 1934-1938), he studied, participated in revolutionary activities, bonded with the Russian people and creatively applied the revolutionary path to liberate the colonial people.

Part 2 “Across the vast Soviet Union - Deepening friendship” looks back at President Ho Chi Minh’s many visits to the Soviet Union after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born. He met with leaders and people, witnessed economic , cultural and educational achievements, and fostered friendship among 15 member republics. His gratitude to Lenin, the October Revolution and the Soviet people always remains in the hearts of the two nations.
Part 3 “The Vietnam-Russia Friendship” reviews the Vietnam-Russia relationship over the past 75 years, which has developed sustainably from the foundation laid by President Ho Chi Minh and generations of leaders of the two countries. From the 1994 Treaty to the upgrade of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2012, the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples has always been warm, steadfast, and has transcended time and historical challenges.

Dr. Vu Manh Ha, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, expressed his belief that this exhibition is a practical cultural activity with widespread influence, contributing to fostering the traditional, loyal, and profound friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, just as President Ho Chi Minh once said: "Although Vietnam and the Soviet Union are thousands of miles apart, our hearts are always together and beat as one."
According to Mr. Vu Manh Ha, many artifacts are being introduced to the Vietnamese public for the first time, such as the book “The Fifth World Congress of the Communist International in 1924,” a photo collection of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to the Soviet Union in 1955, and the guestbook at the Ural Geological Museum. These documents help the public have a realistic view of his foreign affairs activities in the 20th century.

Specifically, the book "The 5th World Congress of the Communist International in 1924" is nearly 1,000 pages thick, including many presentations at the Congress, including 2 speeches by President Ho Chi Minh on the issue of revolution in colonial countries.
After a century of existence, the book has become a rare historical treasure, a testament to a period of vibrant activities and the important role of President Ho Chi Minh in the world revolutionary movement as well as in the process of forming the path to national liberation in Vietnam.
The exhibition will run until April 2026 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, 19 Ngoc Ha, Ba Dinh, Hanoi./.
