Earlier, at around 5:30 p.m. on April 24, on his way home from work, Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Quyet heard a desperate cry for help at the foot of Phuc Trach Bridge, Phuc Trach Commune. Discovering a small child struggling to float downstream, without hesitation, Mr. Quyet bravely jumped into the river to save the victim.

After struggling with the raging water for a while, Mr. Quyet was able to help the victim safely to shore. Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Quyet and some local people present at the scene performed first aid and took the victim to Huong Khe District General Hospital for emergency treatment. Thanks to that, the health of Tran Tuan A. (resident of Phuc Trach commune, 4th grade student at Phuc Trach Primary School) has stabilized again.
