The 11th National Emulation Congress, held on the morning of December 27th in Hanoi, was attended by over 2,000 official delegates, including many outstanding collectives and individuals, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, national emulation fighters, and outstanding individuals in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh...
At the exhibition held alongside the congress, the public had the opportunity to admire Vietnamese-made UAV models, from reconnaissance UAVs and multi-purpose UAVs to suicide combat UAVs… Each product line plays a different role, and when combined, they create comprehensive combat capabilities. Mastering this technology is a shield for solid protection and absolute defense of national security.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Linh, Deputy General Director of the High-Tech Industry Corporation ( Viettel Group), along with his colleagues, has made a significant mark through strategically important research projects on national defense and security, such as UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), radar systems, and electronic warfare.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Linh is one of the exemplary figures embodying the spirit of innovation and determination to overcome limitations and master core technologies.
Sharing about his journey with his teammates in Vietnam's UAV missile manufacturing project, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Linh said that his unit was assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to research and manufacture military information products and high-tech electronic warfare equipment.
According to him, this is a very glorious but challenging and difficult task. This is because these are all high-tech products, using modern and advanced technologies that only a few countries have mastered, such as frequency hopping technology, security, adaptation, or passive radar reconnaissance processing.
In addition, pressure also came from the very wide range of products required for the mission, from handheld equipment for soldiers to equipment mounted on vehicles, ships, and fixed stations. Meanwhile, the mission had to be completed in half the time originally planned.
"Initially, we were very hesitant when we received the assignment. However, with the spirit and approach of soldiers, we were determined to stick to our objective and agreed on the implementation plans," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Linh affirmed.
The first and most important approach, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Linh and his colleagues focused on researching a shared technology platform. With this shared technology platform, he and his colleagues could quickly develop and manufacture products and equipment to meet various requirements and tasks.
Simultaneously, the application of modern research tools such as design, simulation, and calculation tools facilitates parallel research implementation. In addition, the continuous application and updating of new technologies, along with optimization of algorithms and processes, are crucial.
"We work with the spirit of soldiers, finishing the job, not just working until the clock runs out," Linh shared.
With the above tasks and methods, along with determination, discipline, and unity, Lieutenant Colonel Linh and his colleagues successfully completed their assigned mission. The product is used in the military, incorporating several core technologies with dual-use applications for both military and civilian purposes. The product has been protected by exclusive patents in Vietnam and internationally.
"Through this mission, I have become more mature, and the officers and units have developed and made breakthroughs in science and technology," Lieutenant Colonel Linh shared.
At the congress, many exemplary individuals in the patriotic emulation movement were honored, including shooter Trinh Thu Vinh, one of the most outstanding athletes at the 33rd SEA Games, winning 4 gold medals and breaking 3 SEA Games records; and athlete Tran Hoang Khoi (16 years old), who overcame many experienced senior athletes in the region and won a gold medal with an overwhelming performance - this was the first SEA Games gold medal in the history of Vietnamese bowling at the 33rd SEA Games... These exemplary individuals always spread the spirit of creative emulation at all times and in all places, persistently contributing to the development of the country.
