+ The 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory was a great success, with strong participation from the media front. How do you evaluate the participation and role of press agencies in the information and propaganda campaign for this important event?
- With the total effort and determination on all fronts, the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory ceremony was a great success in the excitement and pride of our entire Party, people and army... On the information front in recent times and especially the focus of these days, it has truly created a prominent, bold and worthy media campaign about the event.

We highly appreciate press agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, VTV, VOV, Quan Doi Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Tien Phong Newspaper, Cong Thuong Newspaper, Yen Bai Newspaper, etc., which have carried out special, large-scale, comprehensive, rich in content and unique in form information campaigns that have been broadcast on all platforms to revive the unforgettable heroic days of the nation. We, the Organizing Committee, believe that the press agencies have closely followed the instructions and directives, and propaganda orientations of the Central Propaganda Department; paid attention to the high-point, deep, frequent, continuous, and maximum propaganda of news articles about the event, creating a joyful, exciting, and trusting atmosphere among all classes of people, spreading throughout the Party and society.
+ Sir, it can be seen that the communication work to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory has been carried out very methodically and elaborately. The establishment of the Center has created a very positive impression on journalists at home and abroad. Mr. Deputy Director of the Press Department, could you share more about the idea of building, operating and implementing the Center?
- TTBC was established under Decision No. 25/QD-BTTTT dated January 9, 2024 of the Minister of Information and Communications on assigning the task of coordinating the organization of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and Decision No. 696/QD-BTTTT dated May 3, 2024 of the Minister of Information and Communications on the establishment of the Press Center to serve the propaganda work to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), all activities of the Center are under the direction of the Director of the Center.

The general motto is to create favorable conditions for domestic and international reporters to report on the Anniversary, proactively and actively provide information with the Organizing Committee's direction on the Anniversary, contributing to the successful organization of the Anniversary according to the set goals, while ensuring the safety and security of the Anniversary.
In addition to the theme of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Celebration, the Center also pays attention to meeting the requirements of press activities on other topics that foreign reporters may be interested in, such as: The socio-economic development situation of Dien Bien province; the implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines for ethnic minorities; changes in the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities in Dien Bien province over the past 70 years; the renovation process, Vietnam's foreign policy, introducing the country and people of Vietnam... in order to best attract the world's attention and enhance Vietnam's international prestige domestically and internationally.
Responsible coordination between units
+ According to statistics, how many domestic and international reporters participated in the Center, sir? How did the establishment of the Press Center contribute to ensuring effective working conditions at the Anniversary Ceremony, sir?
- The Press Department has recorded that 285 reporters from 87 Vietnamese press agencies and 37 reporters and assistants from 19 foreign press agencies participated in the propaganda during the Anniversary Ceremony. This is the second time the Press Center has been established in Dien Bien but has promoted and effectively implemented the assigned tasks.

Accordingly, the Center has ensured the material conditions, information technology infrastructure, security and order for the working activities of domestic and foreign reporters; Organized and guided the press to work at the Anniversary Ceremony; received registration and issued all kinds of Activity Cards for reporters attending and reporting on the Anniversary Ceremony; handled the requests for professional activities of the press such as: interviewing delegates, working positions of reporters;...
Provide full and timely information about the Parade, the Celebration Parade and sideline activities during the event; provide content, documents, press releases, information about activities during the Celebration to post official information on the Vietnam.vn Foreign Affairs Information Website to serve the work of looking up, learning, and exploiting information about the event; Issue press releases; Monitor and synthesize the reporting of news agencies and newspapers and promptly coordinate with relevant agencies to handle cases of inaccurate and inappropriate reporting about the Celebration;...
Develop a report synthesizing domestic and foreign press opinions reflecting on the Anniversary; Coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province to inform about the series of activities at the Anniversary; promptly combat and refute anti-sabotage and false information about the Anniversary.
According to statistics, from May 1 to May 7, 2024, there were 11,522 news, articles, reports, and documentaries published, broadcast, and transmitted by press agencies, such as on May 6, 2024, there were 2,392 news and articles; on May 7, 2024, there were 2,887 news and articles.
+ Mr. Deputy Director of the Press Department, the experiences from implementing the TTBC activities in Dien Bien Phu this year will certainly help the Press Department in particular and the Ministry of Information and Communications in general gain more experience to implement more effectively in the upcoming major events, don't you think?
- The Ministry of Information and Communications has established the Press Center in most of the country's important events, mainly in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. With the Press Center in Dien Bien, we believe that in order to have a good success, we must first mention the close direction of the Ministry's leaders, directly by Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam, and the careful preparation in all aspects, in terms of human resources, technology and machinery...
In addition, there is professional and scientific coordination between related units. The Executive Board of the Press Center includes representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Central Propaganda Department, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, and members are representatives of relevant ministries, departments and branches such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, etc. The responsible coordination between the units has contributed significantly to helping the focal points of work to be deployed smoothly and according to plan. In particular, we see the efforts to overcome difficult circumstances and conditions regarding accommodation of the team of reporters and journalists, etc.
We have also consulted with the Ministry's leaders that during the upcoming summary, there will be rewards for press agencies and reporters who have made efforts in communication work, contributing to the success of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
