The 14th Party Congress Press Center held its first session.

Also attending were comrades: Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee; Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of central departments, ministries, branches and key press agencies.

According to the report of the Standing Committee of the 14th Party Congress Press Center, since its establishment, the 14th Party Congress Press Center has operated effectively and consistently, meeting requirements and tasks.

The center has presided over the development of conditions, standards, and criteria for reporters, editors, and technicians participating in reporting at the center; requested press agencies to send staff to participate in the center; and at the same time requested press agency leaders to thoroughly understand and disseminate the center's operating regulations to journalists participating in reporting at the 14th National Party Congress.

As of November 10, 102 central and local press agencies and news agencies had registered 599 reporters, editors, and technicians to work at the 14th National Party Congress.

In addition, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission has issued a plan on publishing and displaying books and newspapers at the 14th National Party Congress; coordinated with relevant agencies to complete the plan to invite, guide and manage foreign press to attend and report on the 14th National Party Congress and submit it to the Politburo for consideration and direction. After reviewing the plan proposed by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Politburo agreed to the plan to invite, guide and manage foreign press to attend and report on the 14th National Party Congress.

In the coming time, the Press Center for the 14th National Party Congress will compile a list of reporters and technicians working at the Congress to ensure the requirements of qualifications and political standards. At the same time, it will develop a plan and script for propaganda in the press in the days before, during and after the Congress; draft a number of contents related to the exchange and provision of information to the press by delegates attending the 14th National Party Congress to submit to the Organizing Subcommittee serving the 14th National Party Congress. It is expected that in December, the center will organize conferences to disseminate and train propaganda work on the 14th National Party Congress.

Comrade Que Dinh Nguyen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nhan Dan Newspaper spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates basically agreed on the content of the report of the Standing Committee of the Press Center of the 14th National Party Congress. In particular, many discussions focused on clarifying the requirements, tasks, and proposing practical solutions to ensure the quantity and quality of equipment and machinery serving the Press Center of the 14th National Party Congress; reasonably arranging the diagram and working positions for press agencies at the 14th National Party Congress; plans for exchanging and providing information to the press during the 14th National Party Congress; and proposing a mechanism for handling information when incidents occur.

Comrade Lai Xuan Mon delivered concluding remarks at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Lai Xuan Mon highly appreciated the opinions at the meeting; noted that the time leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party is still very short, so the workload that the Press Center of the 14th National Congress of the Party must undertake is extremely large. Based on this practical requirement, Comrade Lai Xuan Mon requested the Standing Committee of the Press Center of the 14th National Congress of the Party to urgently supplement and assign responsibilities to the leadership and each member of the center; assign the standing unit of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission to review the work, periodically report to the Standing Member of the Secretariat, Head of the Organization Subcommittee serving the 14th National Congress of the Party. At the same time, he requested the Press-Publishing Department, the Central Propaganda and Education Commission to make a plan to assign functions and tasks to the functional agencies participating in serving the reporting at the 14th National Congress of the Party.
